A fairytale ending to the Kode5 Australian finals, as Team Immunity edged out Encore in a dramatic final.
The last day of the finals was scattered with excitement and tight matches that went down to the wire. Every round counted as we saw the best of the best sweat it out in a best of three series. Following Team Immunity's run to the championship game; their first opponent was mEx who were defeated in 3 maps. With the semi-finals now announced anticipation spread throughout IbisQ as Immunity would take on the Singaporean power house Team TitaN. An extremely impressive defensive hold on de_inferno saw Immunity quickly snatching the first map with a formidable 16-5 score line. Many on lookers doubted whether TitaN's could keep up, however proving everyone wrong they managed to equalize. A spectators dream seeing such a tight semi final, as the map changed to de_train no one was too sure which way it was going to go. Once the game began however, it was Team Immunity who became the immediate aggressor dismantling anything TitaN's threw at them. Victorious against their international opponent, Team Immunity were one step closer to winning the tournament.
As the dust settled from the semi-final matches, we were left with two teams, an all Australian final; Team Immunity against long term rivals Encore. Although both teams were sporting slightly different rosters, most have played against each other countless times. The grand final, best of three series began on de_inferno, with Encore showing early signs of success stringing together a lot of rounds. Conceding far too many rounds Immunity were unable to catch up, subsequently losing the first map 16-8. With momentum on Encore's side they were able to win the very important pistol round, applying pressure to Immunity. This map proved to be very intense with constant exchanges in rounds, when one team was successful the other team would strike back with an equalizer. With pressure amounting on both sides it was Team Immunity who managed to take control, with an amazing clutch play by ‘deStiny'. Back on an even playing field the winner would now be decided on the final map of the day, de_nuke. Encore starting as the advantageous CT side had spectators optimistic with their chances in sealing the title. This however was not the case, as Team Immunity's aggressive strategies assited with sharp aim was too much for Encore. All the Immunity players stepped up another level, with some exceptional frags by ‘ferg'. The map ending with a comfortable 16-6 score line resulted in Team Immunity being crowned once again the champions of Australia.

Overall the event was run exceptionally, with a special thanks to the organizers behind Kode5 Australia. Team Immunity would also like to thank our head sponsor Intel and GEIL for the support and making our gaming aspirations achievable. Stay fixed to the website for exclusive interviews with Team Immunity players about their recent victory and their future trip to compete in the Kode5 World Finals.
Team Immunity then reveal that the Counter-Strike 1.6 team has been formally invited to attend the ESWC Asia Masters. Along side Team Immunity the event will host all the top teams from around the world, such as fnatic, SK, mTw and locals WeMadeFox. The ESWC Masters have been scheduled the weekend prior to the Kode5 Global Finals. Team Immunity will be attending both events consecutively - these will provide the ultimate trial by fire for the Australian's. Practicing and competing in such an environment, Team Immunity is looking to improve on their WCG results in both the ESWC Masters and the Kode5 World finals.
