SteelSeries 5H v2 highlights:
- Pull-out microphone system
- Custom engineered soundscape for gaming
- Specifically optimized for FPS games
- Comfortable XL-sized ear cushions
- Features extra durable braided cord
- Can be dismantled into 3 separate pieces
- Available in black and glossy white
SteelSeries 5H v2 is one of the most popular gaming headsets on the planet. This headset has been used by talented gamers to win major international events like Electronic Sports World Cup, World e-Sport Games, World Series of Video Games, Kode 5, World Cyber Games, Samsung Euro Championship, ESL Extreme Masters and many others.
When wearing the SteelSeries 5H v2 you'll immediately notice the enormous full-size ear cushions which gently fit around your ears and reduce background noise. The comfort is something that has to be experienced first hand, either at a friends house or at one of the many LAN-centers and Internet cafées that offers the headset to their customers.
The headset features a custom-engineered soundscape designed to enhance performance and immersion in FPS games. This headset was developed and optimized specifically for in-game sound frequencies found in the most popular shooters - making in-game sounds like footsteps, alerts and gunfire especially clear. You will be able to hear and pinpoint the location of your opponents, often before they hear you.
The SteelSeries 5H v2 can easily be dismantled into 3 separate parts, that easily fit into a bag or a carrying case. This makes transportation of the headset both easy and safe. The pull-out microphone is practically invisible when not in use.
Gotgames will be holding a competition to allow you to get your hands on a pair, so stay tuned for a further update.
since then i got a pair of siberias. still using the sound card i got with the 5h v2's though.
they are pretty low sound on my pc... theyre good for music and u get used to them for ingame.
also those white ones look fucking epic. mine are the gay grey ones lol
*Waits for studiosoundguy to link to some like expensive headphones for music lolz*
the other day i plugged both headsets in for comparison, and there was a HUGE quality gap, the SteelSeries headset had barely any bass, all treble and weak sounds. the minute i swapped back to my Sennheiser's there was massive bass, spacial sound, 10x better headset.
the 5hv2's are a gaming headset, optimised for hearing footsteps, and im sorry but in-game footsteps arnt anything like music.
if i was going to spend >$130 on headphones, Sennheiser/Beyedynamic/AudioTechnica would be my immediate decision. The 5hv2's are good if you only what good performance in FPS GAMES.
edit: I also use the Auzentech Prelude sound card, so i would be getting the best sound possible from each headset.
i think far from it.
yes there are probably 10x better headphones out there. but for me the 5hv2s are good enough, for ingame and for music.
and im actually happy with the bass that mine puts out
You now have the equivalence of everything thats good about the 5Hv2.
Just make sure you go back to default or your favourite preset for music.
I think its 10khz, just figure out which one makes footsteps alot louder...
i have ad700s atm bought them 2nd hand perfect condition so even cheaper than the 5h... and sound a shit load better
do steel series sponsor gotgames or something ?
As can be seen on the right, under 'Partners...'
