Taken from Team Immunity

After a refreshing break over the New Year we’re happy to get back into the thick of it and open our International season for 2010 in Taiwan at the IEM (Intel Extreme Masters). Our 1.6 team have been officially invited to attend the championship and we’re proud to announce that we’ve accept the invitation.

We’re also proud to announce the new Team Immunity 1.6 roster who will be attending the IEM Asian Championship Final in Taipei.

The break allowed us to restructure the 1.6 lineup and bring some fresh faces into the team. New to the team is Mike "Apoc" Aliferis and Otis "pupajoN" Duncan who both recently represented Australia at the 2009 World Cyber Game World Finals, as well as a familiar face Miles "rizE" O'Connor who attended the 2007 World Cyber Game World Finals. Coupled with the highly experienced and familiar faces of Team Immunity’s battle hardened veterans Gareth "gazR" Lynn and Fergus "ferg" Stephenson.

Team Immunity 1.6 Roster:

Gareth "gazR" Lynn
Fergus "ferg" Stephenson (C)
Mike "Apoc" Aliferis
Otis "pupajoN" Duncan
Miles "rizE" O'Connor

Gareth "gazR" Lynn had to say about the team and the trip:

“With a big year of Counter-Strike ahead, Fergus and I decided it was time to shake things up and recruit our former arch-enemies. Combined I believe we will create a formidable force on the battlefield and I believe our coming together will foster great strategy and teamwork. We look forward to causing many upsets in Asia, let the games begin!”

The IEM Asian Championship will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from February 5th-9th 2010. The Counter Strike 1.6 finals will see the top teams from throughout APAC battle it out for $25,000 in prize money. The top two teams also earn themselves an invite to the IEM World Championship being held on March 4th - 7th Hanover, Germany. Spectators will be able to follow all the action on our website with constant news and updates and watch the championship live from ESL TV.

Be sure to check our website updates on the team’s journey.

Taipei is on the same timezone as Western Australia. Thus they will only be 3 hours behind AEDST. This means that if games are played during the morning/day(which is more likely then night matches) you wont need to stay up late...
