GotGames, in conjunction with SteelSeries, is proud to announce the opening of the King of the Hill Call of Duty 4 competition.

What is the GotGames King of the Hill?

The King of the Hill tournament is a traditional competition run by SteelSeries over the past few years, who have been running competitions with CEVO, and have only now opted to run a Call of Duty 4 competition with GotGames.

The GotGames KOTH competition is a vote-based fortnightly competition, in which two teams that are voted to compete head-to-head play off for the chance to win $250, and be crowned King of the Hill.

When will the GotGames King of the Hill commence?

The competition is set to commence on the 1st of November, 2008.

How does my team register for the competition?

Registrations for the tournament couldn’t be any simpler. Visit the ladders page and make sure you sign up to your team of choice. Teams must have a minimum of 5 players before they can be moved to the voting list. Registrations are completely free so sign up today!

When day will games be played?

Games are played on Tuesday nights, and no exceptions are made unless both parties accept the date change.

How does a team qualify for the King of the Hill?

It’s first in – best dressed, as the first 15 teams to have 5 members entered will be placed onto the voting list, in which the public will nominate who they want to see face-off with each other in a best of three game. Teams that are signed up after the voting list is announced will be placed in the waiting list, and will also replace teams that do not wish to compete for any reason.

Teams will rotate so don’t worry if you aren’t in the immediate 15.

How does the vote system work?

The fifteen selected teams will be named in a public vote, and the two teams with the highest amount of votes will be the two teams that are on show for that week. The teams with the 3rd and 4th highest vote count will be selected to remain on the vote list for the following week.

How long does the King of the Hill run for?

Until further notice, the competition will run fortnightly and there is no scheduled ending date.

What maps are going to be on offer?

The maps that will be played are as follows;

Backlot, Broadcast, Crash, Crossfire, District, Pipeline, Strike, Vacant, Ravens & Harbor.

Will there be any coverage on the games?

GotGames have successfully obtained Australia’s premiere shoutcasting crew Gamestah to do this competitions commentary, and with this comes years of experience from the many talented Call of Duty 4 shoutcasters in which Gamestah currently obtains.

There will also be many available write-ups done by the GotGames Writing staff, showcasing the teams competing that week and giving a run through of the map including team history and predictions.
