Some new hints indicate that the new Dead Space sequel could be using Frostbite 2.

Although still unannounced, Dead Space 3 is probably already in development. Some art and possible story leaks suggest that the work on the game is well underway at Visceral Games and now we have some fresh speculation on which the engine the game may run on.

According to NowGamer, Dead Space 3 is likely to run on DICE's Frostbite 2.0 used in Battlefield 3. DICE's rendering architect Johan Andersson announced on Twitter that he'll be going to Montreal to visit an EA studio currently working with the Frostbite engine. In addition, Visceral Games has recently posted a job ad for an Environment Artist that would work on the Dead Space franchise in their Montreal branch.

While this is all still in the realm of rumors, the fact is that Electronic Arts is using Frostbite 2 on many projects that are currently in development, such as BioWare's Command & Conquer: Generals 2, and Dead Space 3 could probably make good use of the same tech.
