Anexias Movie Comp

Hello fellow movie makers,

I have decided to run a little movie competition for us, movie makers in Aus source. The increasing amount of upcoming movie makers inspired me to run this for you guys to have a chance to battle it off with your editing skills against each other. This competition is open to all movie makers who are keen to show off their skills, it's for you up and coming movie makers to show us what you got!

So this is how its going work:

- I have uploaded a demo pack which includes 10~ demo's suitable for a short movie. You may use as many as these demo's as you want but these are the only demo's you are allowed to use as footage. You may use other demo's for demo smoothing/3rd person footage. The demo pack can be found below.
- All submissions will be limited to 2 minutes long and must be no larger that 100mb.
- All submissions must include the competition intro which can be found below.
- All submissions must have the producers name/alias in the file name of the movie eg "etriC_AMC.avi"
- All submissions must be submitted either via PM, to me (etriC), on the anythinginteractive forums (Anything Interactive - Index) or via email sent to etric69@hotmail.com. You may include extra information in the PM or email if you wish.
- Entries close the 31st of January, so get recording, get compiling and get editing!
- All anexias members are ineligible to by considered in this competition, although they may enter just for fun, the same applies for snapshot and pomality. This comp is for the upcoming movie makers Smiley

Prize information:

Prizes for the competition will include unlimited bragging rights over your fellow movie makers in aus as the Anexias Movie Comp winner (A signature will be provided for the winner)! Also an incentive prize of an icemat mousepad donated by gamerzstuff will go to the winner!

We will be judging the movie's on originality, editing and choice of soundtrack. The judges will include myself(etriC), camstar, cPs, zaM and possible a celebrity guest judge. We encourage everybody to have a shot at this because you never know what might appeal to us judges. The most important thing is to do something out of the ordinary, make it extraordinary.

For anyone that is wondering and cbf downloading, yes the demos include the ticks in the filenames, and there's 12 of them. Couple of them have more than one set of ticks too.

As i said on the Anything Interactive website, terrible timing for me as i am going to Queensland soon, and my current pc doesn't agree with the adobe products after my HDD failed (all corrupted)

What's with some of the demos? Some of the ticks are just knife rounds (or no round at all), and others I can't even find the player. Are you wanting us to put knife round frags in this clip, or is this just a mistake? rofl.

There is one that is a mistake, the others im fairly sure are correct, i missed out a 0 on the end of waluigi's demo, its 88000. You should be able to find the player, its quite obvious if you go to the tick who the player is doing the frags.

No, the intro can be edited, just has to be recognizable.

Ah f* it.
I just cleaned up D drive and got up to 91.1G free.
I assume this is enough to record about 7 sets of frags 0-O

I'm worried though Adobe won't enable frame blending when clips are @ 100% speed so it makes everything look less 'smooth' and people don't like it then.
Anyone use CS4 know about this? :S

I think its a virtualdub issue. Do you change your fps in virtualdub to whatever fps you recorded at? in both "source rate adjustment" and "frame rate conversion"? It may or may not be a coincidence but when i forgot to change it for "frame rate conversion" i encountered your lag problem when i was testing renders.

And never touched the other fields.

I'm about to encode a test vid using 3 methods want me to show you later?
IoF showed me a trick to smooth up video and if it works (test shows it prob does) = orgasm.

Actually now i think its just the simple problem of rendering with preview quality instead of best in vegas. I get the lag when i render with preview. This is so confusing...
