well the g5 should give you an fps boost of roughly 5, the icemat depending on condition should give you and fps boost of roughly 3 and the sennheiser pc150sk, being the trustworthy brand that it is should give you an fps boost of about 6.

NO ONE CAN TELL YOU EXACT FPS BECAUSE IT DEPENDS ON RESOLUTIONS/SETTINGS/MONITOR - Remember you can only get as much FPS as your monitor can handle

I can tell you that this computer you are getting wont dissapoint you... until i steal it.

Wrong, that only applies if you have V-sync on. And really you want to get higher because whatever FPS you're getting is also the FPS for the physics. The higher the physics FPS the smoother play feels.

Do a Stress Test when you get it to find out

In all seriousness depending on the resolution that system *should* be able to achieve 100fps as a benchmark

Stress test remembering, now real life with a 16 player slot server that stress test goes from 280fps to about 150fps but it all depends on the server, players and a few other factors, nice guess though.

i do wonder if he was being a smartarse or not...

since you like, the actual person you, only receive the amount of frames per second that your monitor can display, your computer will happily calculate more but you yourself only receive the amount of frames that get displayed to you.

    That's pretty much a given?

Seeing as though this is a forum with "enthusiastic" gamers playing CS:S, it was worthwhile to mention to them that even though you can only see 60FPS from the monitor you will still get smoother play from having a higher number of FPS.

i would expect even in huge 32player+ pubs with everyone on screen and grenades you should never drop below 150fps. mine doesnt and I have something similar.....

Well obviously if your at fps_max 100 then you will hit 100 provided the hardware is capable of doing it :P

nope the quality makes very little difference to my FPS. I do run the CEVO configs however, but regardless of low or high quality I get similar FPS.

the bottleneck in CSS is much more about CPU. Ive got my e6600 @ 3.4ghz and its solid. In a 5v5 never moves from my fps_max 200.

You should get much more then 100...

    core 2 duo and a 8800gts x2

    No worries

As fury said, its majorly dependent on your cpu for css, also ensure you do not use on board sound, get a dedicated PCI or PCIX sound card to take one extra task off the cpu.

Onboard sound uses cpu time for its processing which means less time for css, after strict testing myself ect not to mention a dedicated sound card makes a difference to sound as well.

Users wish to squeeze from they're computers Liam the max performance they can, Ironic considering those specs though, my system on blood assault bounces on the 300fps mark when no one is in but even when shes full i get 200+ fps

Each to their own I guess imo.
