your usb port isnt giving enough power probably. it usually shows as an error in the system tray. only way to fix it is get a new PSU or try a new port

Mouserate switcher doesn't control the voltage going to your usb :P, something wrong with the device if its not working correctly.

Doesn't it overclock your usb ports? I was answering the guy who mentioned that in this thread.

Maybe you're not using a USB 2.0 port and the one you're plugging your mp3 player into is the old USB 1.1? Try another port or test in another computer to see if it isnt your mp3 player being dud

500mA max per port should be more than enough for a mp3 player, nah fishtits overclocking shouldnt affect usb, well not for me anyway :P

Overclocking should never affect USB ports apart from the fact from the motherboard having power regulating issues, try the device in another port or another computer and give it a try ensuring that nothing else is on that group of 2 usb ports.

overclocking your usb ports only increasing the polling frequency, not voltage. it's possible that the increased frequency is causing the mp3 player to malfunction though

sounds like a probelm with the polling frequency than the voltage. Have you used any mousetweak type things or usb rate changes?
