Hi,
Info: I've just downloaded The Dark Knight in 1080p in the .mkv file format.
Problem: The voice and video is out of sync. The voice comes in about 1 or 2 seconds after the person on the screen is talking etc.
Is there any drivers that you can suggest for me to download (.exe/.zip etc) so I can fix this. I used 11 GB on this movie and I want to watch it.
Program I'm using: Media Player Classic version 6.4.9.0 with the standard K-Lite Codec Pack installed.
It runs .avi files fine, everything is in sync, but when I try to play the .mkv (1080p movies) it goes out of sync.
Any help would be appreciated. I've also download ffdshow and still nothing, also two different .mkv file splitters and nothing.
Please help!
Thanks.
Use VLC
Works for me
Codec is shit by the way...use CCCP codec pack, why people still recommend Kazaa pisses me off
Thanks Shawn - Downloaded CCCP for WMPC and it's still mucking up. I'll try VLC with the codec already built in.
I'll reply back when I've tested.
Read what I said...
VLC !
link me in steam where you downloaded !
VLC first
The CCCP
Not hard!
I think your computer is struggling to decode the video. Its a pretty system hungry codec...

Perhaps.
CCCP is not updating anymore, stopped alittle while back so I had to drop it after having issues.
Use the Klite pack here as it is still very active.
Also use WMP11 and uninstall EVERYTHING then install the new Klite.

It is a container format you rehabs.

Nah, stick with Media Player Classic
But yeh, grab CCCP.
To fix the sync right click the video screen, click 'Options'. Under the 'Internal Filters' heading, click 'Audio Switcher'. Tick the 'Audio Time Shift' box and enter how much you want the audio delayed/advanced.

This is suppose to the the fastest decoder, so if anything will work for your machine, will most likely be this.

nope there is new mp4, dixv codecs out since then.
Meh...
MKV is what we are talking about
Keep it to that Particular Format in the topic.
What he said. Mkv is a container format. It can contain any number of other files/formats. You might be looking for a "matroska" codec. When in fact it's another codec that's your issue. Such a high resolution won't cause audio delay if the PC can't handle it. It will cause video delay/stuttering.

Not what I said...if you listen...
Codec packs are a personal preference, I use what works for me...
CCCP...is fine....outdated...meh codecs don't change that much actually.
You can get the latest beta version of CCCP at:
movaxserv 3z (It's like a week old)
If the audio has a constant delay, as a work around, you can shift the audio backwards and forwards in VLC by going preferences, showing all the options, clicking the main audio tab and changing "Audio desynchronization compensation". It's measured in milliseconds, a positive number will delay the audio and a negative number will advance it.

I'd say as others say lack of hardware...
I've never had any issues with CCCP, works perfectly for me (Including MKV)
