Default LAN server (create a server)

Ok so basically, before I got my new D-LINK router, I was able to play on my local server (create a server). But ever since I got this new D-LINK router I can't play in it because my ping is sitting at a constant 500+ ping. Online servers are fine though because I sit on a stable 10-20 ping. I have no idea why it's doing this, and I would like to know what is causing this. It frustrates me because I can't practice on bots or anything because I'm not able to even join a team (CT's/T's) on my own LAN server.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

EDIT: I have also just tried disconnecting my router and running just off the modem, I have also turned off the alternate PC that is connected to my network aswell.

You're getting 500+ pings to a server thats running on localhost?

...repair Source my friend. Specifically, if you can find it.. repair only the MP DLL. That DLL was what handled both hosting localhost servers, and connecting to online servers back in the Half Life 1 engine... however, I have never written any code/seen the SDK for Source.. so I can't be sure.

Really? I just found it weird that as soon as I put this new router on it started happening. Is there a possible quick fix without uninstalling source?

EDIT: sorry for double

Yeah, I've ignored it for a while now, but it's becoming an issue as the team i'm in wants to get serious, so I need a local server just to dry run etc. It's been doing it for a good 2+ months now, so yeah I have installed a fair few updates since then. But like I said it was fine BEFORE I installed the router, and the day I installed it I tried to play on my local server but it wouldn't work.

Also chem I reply from you would be nice, I'm not sure whether you want me to re-install source or just delete a file or something

Cheers for the help so far lads.
