So my problem is that I'm currently overseas and unable to access abc iview as the content on it is region restricted to people in Australia.
Is it possible and if so, how do I access iview from overseas? I take it I would need some kind of Australian proxy to go through.

Can you still setup a proxy on aus ISP webspace....I did that a while back...
Yeah but are you going to get 512k-1.5mbit throughput on an anonymous proxy required to view iview video?
Wouldn't think so....
You'd probs need a bought vpn or something that will give you the kind of bandwidth to watch a video. Unless Joolz has that sort shit, in which case, I want what he's having.

Wow I can't stop laughing at the AIM logs. You screwed over his internet so hard to he had to sign in on his mobile?!
Massive stunt, I still don't fully understand parts of it but that doesn't matter because I'm laughing too hard to care. - Hucky on aush0k
What else does a VPN allow you to do?
fuck summer
A VPN is an encrypted tunnel from one node to another, either being a client PC to a network, or a network to another network, w/e. Most use PPTP (128bit), L2TP, SSL or IPSec
The main purpose of a VPN is to allow employees to access their business's network from home or vacation or something.
I use a 2048 bit encrypted tunnel to RUSSIA just for browsing the internet tho ;o
There are plenty of VPN services for sale, for a number of different uses, or you could just set up a linux box on a static IP and SSH tunnel to it and use that instead. Cheaper, just as good if you know what you're doing and just as effective as any of the others.
For what you want though, go get a proxy. I'm sure you can find one for free, if not i'll give you a socks5 to use. If you're nice.
See my illustration for a better explanation.
Looks like you're screwed, though.
