hey guys,
so as some of you may already know i've had to return my 8800gt to ASUS because it was giving me bluescreens. Now that it's finally been returned to me i've noticed a significant drop in frames per second in games. i used to get like 550fps in blood assault and am now getting like 300 tops (and no its not fps_max)
so i believe ASUS has fixed the bluescreens by reducing the performance of the card. perhaps i'm incorrect but how do i tell whether its running at factory settings and how do i perhaps boost its performance?
find the make and model of card, find the clock settings. download the newest nvidia drivers or its this NVIDIA DRIVERS 9.09.0814 << nvidia physX
one or the other has a option where you can OC your gfix card and shows how your settings on card. there is prob an easier way but thats only way i know

If CSS is the only game you play, 100 fps is good enough there's not much point in boosting performance. Is it affecting your fps on any other map and how much fps do you get on other maps?
You won't notice the difference between 150 & 300fps let alone 550fps, honestly just deal with it.![]()
Blood assault is very cpu orientated anyway, even if they underclocked your card you probably wouldn't notice a difference.

blood assault was an example. im getting like 50fps in de_dust2, but on the deathmatch server.
and its not something im gonna "just deal with" steamboat when i know its not right.
EDIT: perhaps i have some incorrect settings on which greatly affect the frames. is there like a standard for high quality but high fps?
like for example should i be disabling bloom/reflections etc?

Check the clock speeds in rivatuner or nvidia drivers.
bloom should be disabled, all high, 4xAA, 4xAF (or people like myself like to use Trilinear filtering and no AA to remove the grain in the textures)
