External Mass Storage Devices

every mass storage device that i plug into my pc (psp, ipod, camera, usb sticks, phone) doesnt seem to want to be explorable on my computer.

autoplay doesnt come up when its connected so i go to my computer to open it and when i double click on it, it says "The disk in drive J is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?"

its really annoying coz this is happening on brand new devices too, including my recently brand new 8gb SD memory card for my phone.

i really want to get this fixed.

also, just a side thing which isnt a big problem but gets annoying is my headset's microphone keeps turning itself down in audio control to almost the lowest point, which means i have to go into volume control and turn it up myself again. headset is 5hv2 and if anyone can help +rep (lol)

Are you using the front USB header, or the Rear ones? if its the front ones, they may be incorrectly plugged into your motherboard. IF its the rear ones, what other USB devices are you using, are they working correctly? Do you have your motherboards Chipset drivers installed?

Your mic issue sounds like you have an auto setting enabled that is automatically changing the device's sound level. Are you using the USB attachement that came with your 5hv2, or plugging straight into the sound jacks? It could be a setting with either the SteelSound USB Device software, or your onboard sound settings, depends which you are using. Personally, id get rid of the USB attachment and use the jacks, and see if it still does it.

well ive ended up fixing the storage device problem. the problem was that i had too many devices being used in daemon tools.

im using the sound jacks for the 5hv2. not the usb
