[CSS] Lag When Running Through / Scoping into Smoke

I've searched, and nothing that has been said so far has helped me.
Here is my deets:

I have a ATi 2600 HD Pro. Not too great.

I have CEVO FPS config, capped at 101. Always get 101 on EVERY Map, except when I'm running through or scoping into smoke grenades.

It's extremely annoying and noticeable as the slowdown with my mouse etc is incredibly bad.

I've tried DX Level 81, I'm using 90 now as it dosen't lag as much as 81 for some reason. AA is off completely, running on Trillinear, or however its spelled, everything is on low except my Model textures, there medium.

Any help and feedback would be so greatful.
P.S: I've been through many FPS Configs, changed settings around, and still nothing. AND I've done everything in the Tweaking Thread.

tbh if your using cevo fps config already... I don't think there is much you can do besides stop using scoped weapons or use cheats where it disables smokes.

Edit; Does smaller screen resolution up your fps?... maybe try that.

Why the fuck have a 2600 Pro, you have got a solid cpu.

Only thing to IMPROVE this would be lover DX level, buy like 9600gt/9800gt or higher, perhaps get more ram too.

edit: No your going to have to either put up with it or fork out ~230 for a new GFX

no.. because then that would make them easier to see through.. thus 'cheating'..

Step1. Buy new graphics card.
Step2. Take out old graphics card.
Step3. Put old graphics card in anti static bag that came with new graphics card and keep it in a safe place.
Step4. Put new graphics card in computer.
Step5. Enjoy.

If anything ever fucks up, follow these steps.

Step1. Take new graphics card out.
Step2. Find old graphics card, take out of anti-static bag and insert into PC.
Step3. Put new graphics card in the anti-static bag.
Step4. Bring PC to Harvey Norman and claim you never touched it, but it's broken.
Step5. Get fix/replacement. Bring it home.
Step6. Repeat first set of steps, except replace "buy new graphics card" with "get new graphics card out of storage"

Lag is caused by something using the CPU or Heat causing throttling...

Out of Date Drivers is also a attributing factor

Do not open the case.....if the machine is under warranty it is VOIDED the moment you slide the cover open and most manufacturers put stickers over the case which show VOID once opened..

Retail PC = BAD

People buy them expecting them to be better than a self made one...biggest load of crap ever...

i notice smoke lag, fps cuts in half, from 300 to 150, hahaha, need 5-10smokes though, 1 or 2 smokes i dont get any affect.

ok, things to try, overclocking/formatting/driver updating

i would also recommend dust cleaning but since its under warranty, i wouldnt be opening it.

btw, pc u build say costs 1k, its at least 2k+ retail, so bullshit

The 2600 gets more frames than a 4850 on Source games under low settings.. Shouldn't be the card! I manage a constant 500 fps with mine.

Would it be the CPU and extremely low clock speed?

Rivatuner is safe...and you can't break anything imho.....

Although retail stuff is usually cheap crap brand!
