Default Best way to clean computer screen

Yeah, It's a 22inch samsung LCD. Just sprayed it with mr.sheen or whatever and none of the crap really came off. Anyone got an idea of what's the best way to go about cleaning it?

Probably shouldn't spray cleaning solution on your screen.

Water + Lint-free cloth works for me.

Dont use anything but a micro fiber cloth and a proper monitor cleaning solution. I got a 17" LCD and it now has little tiny scratches on it viewable in certain lighting and angles. Now Ive got a 22" LCD I wont make the same mistake. I bought a LCD cleaning kit for $5 and its the best $5 Ive ever spent. EVER. Fuck paying $15+ for over priced BS.

DealExtreme: $4.44 3-in-1 LCD Cleansing Kit

Buy this. Its perfect. Free postage etc.

Metho is way too harsh to use on plastic. You will damage the monitor over time.

They're 2 seperate things

distilation is method of removing ions by evaporating the water and leaving ions in solid form to remove

deionisation is a more simple filtration process

vce chemistry at its finest ^^

LOL

The front of a LCD is GLASS.

Just get some Windex and either good quality cloth or decent paper towel. Brings it up as good as new.

Very rough...

I wouldn't use them near a 32" lcd

Lint free cloth and Proper cleaner PREVENTS scratching...

Put some light on the LCD when its off, those KFC wipes will absolutely stuff the screen with scratches.

That's because windex = ammonia base. Ammonia will eat the surface coatings on many screens (LCD and CRT alike) and especially likes dissolving some anti-reflective coating (the damn stuff will never dissolve all of it )
Paper towels are also too rough and scratchy

Indeed. You can cut it with dist water though. Most LCD cleaning solutions are simply water+isopropanol.

All good until we talk about CRT

CRT are tubes :P Glass for sure normally, plastic would only be there as a UV protector , with that said most CRT's have a protective coating on the glass to stop Radiation
