Well for what seems to be a major competition at this event, it doesn't follow standard competitive format

TF2 isnt considered a major tournament at Reloaded. CSS, COD4 and DOTA are all ranked higher in our experience. This makes TF2 less of a serious 5v5 competition.

I'm not complaining myself because I don't play TF2, just passing on feedback, but my mate at uni was going to come until he found out that valhalla lans were run TF2 5v5.

Not like anyone should care if Reloaded sells out though lol.

I understand that we havent run TF2 in an ideal fashion, and a great deal of that is due to our inexperience in dealing with tf2, and an inability to find reliable people to run or assist with it in time for this event. We apologise for this short coming.

Some big prizes there, hopefully I will be skilled (lucky) enough to win something at the lan Either that or I will have to pretend that I won the showbag just to make me feel better

You heard wrong. We had issues last year due to some last minute hardware changes and some misunderstandings with some gear that completely killed parts of our network at will.

Those things arent relevant this year.

However if the network load does get a little much, we may ask people to back off a little. And i mean ask. Not explode at them like I did last year.

(In my own defense, some guy had just set off a friggin flare in a doorway, i hadnt slept for 2 days and id already had to remove someone for child pornography)

$40 entry goes to cover alienwares costs for this event. They are paying for the entire event, so we had no control over the pricing or where money went. They tell me they arent going to make a profit, and from all indications Im inclined to agree.

We've had radio advertisements on fm stations, facebook advertising started yesterday, front page coverage on gamearena and ign, as well as a whole host of other areas, that has all been paid for by Alienware.

hmmm, that makes things a little more clear but I still don't see how the entry fee has doubled from the last valhalla, even though it's being held at the same venue. Looks like Alienware screwed you over.

either way, good luck with the event. I've only ever heard positive things about the others you've run.
