keen up uporz we need more keenies like you who play css and are still willing to come not like these other downies who are more worried about losing 25 bucks.
Everyone has been saying 'keen up', 'come to quals', and other things of that nature. All I originally did is post a valid reason as to why people will not want to come to the quals.

I supported the 1.6 scene with the first draft lan which happened, I definately plan to participate at the draft event happening at the upcoming Valhalla, and I plan to take part in any other upcoming draft events if they fit in my schedule. I don't have anything against 1.6, I was just pointing out a valid reason as to why you can't expect to get as many people at a national quals (obviously targetted at the higher competitive players), compared to say a draft lan where everyone is there to have fun.

I didn't really feel the need to keep posting in this thread, but you decided to be the smart arse and say "where is the reply from cloud/houseboat/phen none as of yet. waiting." Being there was no point to a reply, I gave you a pointless reply You were asking for us to keep posting, and then complain when I do

It isn't about being able to afford $25, of course we can all afford it, but any smart person thinks about value for money before just spending it.

Also, I didn't realise that because I'm a moderator I am not entitled to an opinion. I don't think it is part of my role to agree with everything that people say.

Calling people nerds on a gaming forum in a topic about a national gaming event doesn't usually work too well

Although, I'm sure you are the epitome of 'cool'.

I dont have anything against the 1.6 scene either, i think that its great that people are wanting to keep the game alive. But after how badly the 1.6 LAN draft was run im not even going to bother with this event. 1.6 Qualifiers are going to be won by a proper 1.6 team not a 1.6(css players) slut team, I agree that the qualifiers arent about winning but why would you want to play $25 to play a game with 2D graphics and get smashed every game? Its really not worth it.....

    Good luck with the comp....

god dam people are so ignorant here. the last lan ran well it had no problems 40 ppl what else do you want? if you won you would of said it ran well i guarantee it. julien went to arena the night before spent hours setting up the servers he even took his own computer to use as a server, couldnt you tell they were awsome? they had scores all the anti scripting in console config locking hltv's what were they missing? live score updates on the dicevip website? the brackets? it had it all u absolute idiot. julien done a great job and even though people said they were going to help him they did not. im sure he will do it again for the next lan.

if it was up to anyone else they would leave it till the last minute and it wouldnt happen so dont say it was run badly cause u have no idea u maggot.

The event was run very well for a first attempt, but it was far from perfect. I came 2nd, went home with some cash, and had a great time. But the finals run far too late, the team organisation was rushed and could have been done a lot better/fairer, no-one ever knew what was going on and who was playing who next (there might have been brackets up on the dice vip website, but it seems the majority of players weren't informed of this.)

Julian did an awesome job being that he was running it practically on his own and trying to play at the time same (although it is of my opinion that if you want a competition to run at it's best the organiser cannot also play in it). But in the end I don't think many of the attendees could say it wasn't able to be better, but I'm sure everyone's experiences of the event were different. I think it was a fair indicator that the 2nd event had to be posponed because there wasn't enough attendance, what was it that made most of the people from the first one not want to go back for the second?

And there was Qualifiers coming up..... house Maybe you should run a CS1.6 Draft lan by yourself instead if you can do a better job. Juls has done a great job to remake the SA CS lan scene which once was so very big with attitude like that why should he even bother. At the end of the day its your choice if your coming or not.

If i had won the 1.6 draft lan I would have been very surprised and it wouldn't have meant a lot cause I don't play 1.6, but what I wanted was some compeditive 1.6 games and a bit of fun not getting domd 16-2 both games by a slut team of 1.6 players... I went to the day for some fun because it is meant to be all slut teams with a mix of 1.6 and source players.. As far as I was informed it was meant to be 1.6Captain + 4 others? How the teams where selected was bullshit, they should have been done out of a hat or some other system besides julien sitting at a desk going down the list making the teams..

My team played the first game with 4 people and we had a slut from another team and in the second game we had some other person who had never played 1.6 before....

We don't play 1.6 bro, so why should we want or need to run the 1.6 Qualifiers? It it was CSS i would be one of the first people to put up my hand to help run the event and I hope that I will be able to run a successful css lan draft in the future. But there shouldn't be a need for houseboat to run this event and that statement is quite irrelevant.

Just to point out the reason your team "phen" only had 4 players, is because some one decided to dog on the day.. and some one came late who was 1 of the 1.6 captains.. there was nothing else we could do other then to give your team some one who HAD been a 1.6 player until the other captain did arrive. The player that stepped in for your team was Gaa|2a, who might play CSS but he started playing 1.6 with me at the same time and we used to be in the same team ages ago.
So he knows how to play the game. The player who then played with you the second time, "he had never played 1.6" ? he was 1 of the captains as he’s been playing since the start of the cs scene in SA and he’s also in alternate he’s probably been playing 1.6 longer the most people at the event. lol..

I can understand that it did seem to be "not run" properly in your eyes but as I myself was basically doing every thing, there wasn’t much i could do as some one dogged at the last minute who said they were 100% going to be coming and some one came late, was all totally out of my hands. Sure there might be some things to change for next time, and I am sure I will get more help running it next time as well.
But this thread is about the qualifier on July 5th, so please keep the thread on this topic.
If your not coming, I don’t want to see you guys post your reasons for why not.. you have all clearly said the same things over and over.. So please refrain from trying to prove a point which really isn’t valid in this thread in the first place.
If your not coming, don't post... the end. This isn’t to "phen" its to every one in general don't post about not coming, just don’t come if you feel that way. The end..

The main reason that it was postponed was because a lot of players 1.6 and CSS had things on such as uni exams etc.. and when we changed it into a qualifier some people didn’t want to go as they didn’t have a team or didn’t want to make a team and then get rolled by a stacked 1.6 team. Fair enough I can understand that.

thats enough for other 2-3 teams all most!

We should in force these rules this time as people used 16bit last time.
    *Ghost talking is permitted.
*Mouse wheel binding to duck is not permitted.
    *32bit smoke is enforced.
*Flash bugging will incur a 3 round deduction.

Can every one please double check with all team mates that they are 100% coming and know the time/date of the lan which is on Sunday the 5th July, starting at 11am, this coming weekend.

If any one is unsure or any thing, send me a msg, on irc in #adelaide, through email stealth_jb@hotmail.com or pm me through this site.
