Paying $25 so you can play a couple scrims in a game that you don't really play doesn't really sound all that appealing. Not like at a Valhalla LAN where you can pay $20, play a whole range of games/competitions.

Where is the appeal to people that don't generally play 1.6?

wow @ the attitudes of these ppl. if you lose your money goes towards the travel of the winning team for the nats. this is a big step in getting adelaide back into the cs scene nationally. can understand y aurellio vidmar called adelaide a piss ant town.

Im sure Aurellio Vidmar had the Adelaide 1.6 scene in mind when he said that

But yeah, I'm not a charity organisation, not here to pay for other people to go to nats

that proves my point even more. the adelaide 1.6 scene is just a very small example out of the millions that there are.

Well heres the thing guys, this is a CS1.6 comp.
So.. with that being said if you don’t want to play, then don’t lol... But if you would like to play and help the 1.6 community a lot by playing then please do!
If you want to join an all ready established team, thing is its the same in any game, if people see you play well and perform as a player, not by the way your team plays, they will notice you and pick you up.
You cant expect to just join a team of players who have all ready gone through all of that to get where they are.
I’m not saying it wont happen because if it does congrats but most of the time you have to start from the bottom like every one else.
The more teams that come to LAN events, the more teams will start forming and so on… So if you want to play and don’t mind making a team for the day, post here let other people see that you are interested, or if you want to join a team that may be looking for a player say that as well.
As kap said in the end its not about winning its about helping out the community, if it was about winning I wouldn’t be holding this qual for people to be able to play in, I would just forget it and try and grab the invite myself for my team.
But I want to help the community out as much as I can. The days of LANs might not be what they used to be, but they can still be a fun time where friends can come together, have some friendly games of CS with the odd banter every now and again and play in the LAN atmosphere.
There really isn’t any need for people to be just making random posts about saying why would we want to make a team and just lose.
If you feel that way then don’t play, no ones forcing you to, so forget it…

Sorry to keep you waiting.

Blah blah blah, I'm not going to 1.6 qualifiers.... Blah blah blah [Insert 'Internet Tough Guy' insult here]

Blah blah blah blah blah...

I think that pretty much sums it up

$25 in a global economic crisis is a lot of money. Computer games are a luxury, and luxuries are the first things to budget on.

You've been clearly living under a haze of 32-Bit smoke.

edit; I wouldnt come even I was in Adelaide.

What does going to tafe have to do with anything.
PEOPLE AND THEIR USELESS EXAMPLES.
I said I wasn't coming, why are you telling me what I should do when I told you what I was doing?
