Thats fantastic Jez. If this was 6 years ago.. maybe I would've said "OKAY VB6 HELP HERE I COME"..

Theres VB6 and VB.NET now.. which are you after? Does your 'work' know that database stuff is probably better developed in a web-based language?

Yes, databasing in VB6 would be using an Access database.. and its really sticky and oh so bad.

Theres many versions of pre-.NET Visual Basic.. those being upto VB6. VB.NET is just one language.. "VB Express" is just a name for the Express edition of Visual Studio that comes with the VB compiler (and the interface designed for VB development).

So, essentially, VB.NET = VB Express.

But then, theres also different versions of .NET. .NET 1.0, .NET 1.1, .NET 2.0, .NET 3.0, etc.
