Really need to see the rest of the code.

It is hard to make out from what you've got.

Kind of looks like a structured array, perhaps you declared part of it wrong?

Show us the "yachts" datatype. The "sail" property probably doesn't exist..

Tried using yachts(1).sail as another variable?

Did you dim yachts as shared or whatever? It probably can't see it in that scope..
