I'm reading a book. I think It's called Java How To Program (5th Edition) by Deitel and Deitel.
It mentions to make an application: I code it, I then convert it to .class or something using javac in command prompt (Or some****) and then a few more things. Is there an easier option? Like File > Compile?

You should use an IDE like Netbeans or Eclipse for Java. Now that you understand the underlining concepts and can compile via the command line etc, there's no point continuing to beat a dead horse.

Do you mean you've already been compiling a while using javac? Or that you're trying to figure out how to do so?
:S If the latter, learn how to do it using javac and how to set your system up. If the former, follow nuk3's advice.
