Insanely Easy Java Class question

Call me a noob or whatever, but isn't there a REALLY simple way of referencing a variable from another class like I tried to do (red asterisks)? Google just made me cry and get lost in so much code...what's the simplest way to do what I'm trying (first sentence)?
