Connecting external HDD to PS3?
Just wondering if it possible to connect a portable hard drive with movies/tv shows and play it back on my ps3?

you should be able to, i don't know why you can't. xBox360 can so i'd assume the ps3 can.
my TV can play files from my portable hdd. pretty cool lil feature.
The only thing id be worried about is the support the PS3 would offer for file types and codecs

Got to be FAT32 which can be a pain.
Got 320 GB HDD from our school for free, and it turns out it dosne't even work on my ps3 and there' to much stuff to lose, so converting it is out of the picture :|

The best way for me to do this was:
Leave my External to Main Pc so I don't have to keep moving it back and forth and I download PS3 MEDIA SERVER
And then just play back from your PC to PS3 EASY!?
