Anyone think it would be worth opening up a net cafe ( South side Brisbane )
I have been thinking about opening one for quite awhile now... what are your thoughts on this do you think it would be worth it?
What are some pros and cons?
and of course it will be a gaming cafe .....
Please no spam
sounds good, dont live in bris but sounds like an alright idea
Huktastik_!!!! tomato : cheater
Huktastik_!!!! tomato : you couldnt be any more blatant
Well, Cons are that you have to get it off the ground, if you don't have enough money it could end up being a big waste. If you're looking to make a nice profit you have to really take off. Are there any other LAN cafes near where you want to set up? Could be big if there isn't.
Pro's are if you can get it off the ground it's an awesome place to work, and if you can keep it running for a while looks great on a CV. I'm sure other people can think up some more pros and cons.

yeah, i have done a bit of research , and have found software etc .. I have the money to get it up and running its just a location ... its the only hard thing to choose the location
If there aren't many around then it should do alright so best bet is obviously to find a location where there are few to no cafes.
That said, if there are some cafes in the area and you still wanna open there, just go into those cafes and make sure you better everything about them.
gl typexx im sure a man of your knowledge etc could make a great owner of a lan cafe good luck with the moneyim sure you can do it gl with it typexxX

You'd probably want to do a location that's close to places for people to go and eat. And make sure you can set it up in a spot with good ventilation. I have the smell of a cafe that used to be Canberra in the back of my mind. :P

springwood'ish would be awesome![]()
I also thought about doing this.
Some people have mentioned that if there are no cafe's around then its good for you, but it also may mean that the area cannot support a cafe AND if it did, you would have to generate you're own customers. Whereas if you have it near another cafe, and if urs is better, you are likely to steal the customers with ease and be paying everything off with ease.
Im not sure if you can cause you are in Brisbane, but the software Midcity (In Melb) uses is fucking the best ever. Basically it leaves you free to use the computer, basically anything (except USB's) and if you have you're card in the computer it wont turn off till you run out of credit on the card. Then it restarts and im guessing on startup, it just boots off a system restore point or something so its all clean again for the next person, without the restrictions other software has.
gl with it mate![]()
it's what Elysium and The Bunker currently do typex. They give you free reign of the system, and then just re-image them on reboot. They also have various images tailored to competitions and regular net cafe use.
bomb south brisbane till there is nothing left build your lan cafe then business will be booming
i live in south side, and i would love to see one within 4meters of my house

Sounds really cool and I hope it works out well.
Not sure about how lucrative an endeavour it would be to be honest.
I guess maintenance would be an issue with any lan cafes that have greasy gamers using their facilities. Gotta make sure you have an iron grip on both the software and hardware situation so nothing stuffs up.
Market the place out like a whore lol. Net, Yellowpages, fucken...street posts. Adverts everywhere.
i would think you make heaps of profit, here on the coast around Australia fair(shopping centre) there are 3 gaming cafes and at least on the weekend they are all full. most people stay there for like 4 hours which is $10 and there are 70 comps at xzone
thats it the next paki cunt i see im kidnapping and putting him on plane back to his own country - RS2000
south brisbane... really?
there are so many in the city/valley area. Then theres smaller ones around stones corner area.
You may want to look at whether on not the location is decent... i know alot of people still prefer to go to the hot spots... ie. the sunny bank ones and the bunker and even the one out at calamvale.
not sure how great the demand for it is where you are, but afaik there are only 2-3 24/7 LAN cafes in melbourne. Me and GiANT went to MC last night to use the internet to check bus timetables at like 2am, and the place was booked out, not 1 spare PC out of about 60.
There were 60 asians playing dota it was hilarious.
Pretty sure they would have made at least 2 grand profit just last night
Keen to move to bris for a new job. >_>
There is a place in albert street that use to be home to infernoLAN which has a massive surface area much larger then the bunker where everyone use to go but the owners sold up and moved overseas. Was one of the greatest lan places in Brisbane hosting cs 1.5 comps and bf lolz yeah its worth looking at
Haha, fucking fun!
I'd come play bro, goodluck with it!
My opinon: I'd make it ;D
i remember infernolan
ahah
just make it near food, near transport
and near azn's
make sure u have wow.
have like 4 booths with 5 comps in each, then a stage with 10 comps with seats infront with big screens tv's infront of each comp.
When humans get mad they flail their limbs at other things. We should practice doing this in a fast up and down motion, so in a few thousand years of evolution our armpits will develop flaps and we can just fly away.
I call it the Gradual Jetpack theory.
You're here asking 10year olds there opinion.
If you were/are serious you'd do some proper research of the area you're looking to to put your cafe
WOOOSH
Net will cost you to much!
LAES.: if it wasnt illegal id probably punch my dad in the head

gl typex i wanna do this wen im abit older theres none for 25km around me
typex, your business, whatever it is, will fail.
You will find that not many people will come to your shop/cafe if you ban them after they beat your team in cevo the previous night.
Gl with life shit idiot.
I havnt looked at everyone's posts, but if you have the time, it would be good to find out the age levels living the the areas surrounding your chosen location. You could also make you're own survey, and go door to door asking ppl who answer if anyone in their house plays computer games etc and if they would visit a lan cafe if it was close.
Would take a very long time but im sure it would be very beneficial.

the boss
MAKE ONE NORTHSIDEEE
i've seen a lot of cafe's fail purely because of location. unless you have a really good following with a regular crew of gamers (like DNA in WA), you are going to need to be near a tourist location, or in a densly populated area (such as in the heart of the city). This will allow you to nab the backpackers who will spend $4-5 per hour to sit and check their facebook. seriously need to do lots and lots of research on location or you will be throwing your money away
