XBOX360 or PS3

I know this is not a PC related discussion, but since im new and most of you have probably already had this argument, Im am still Curious. I myself own a 360 and I think it is the ultimate gaming console on the Market, but most people out there (ps3 owners) Usually give the Xbox alot of Grief. Fair enough the PS3 has got BlueRay and a decent internet Browser but does it match up in Gfx and Gamplay? I dont know the facts and Im basing my analysis on only what I have seen. Taking into Consideration the Xbox Elite is now out. What do you think?

I've had both and actually just sold my xbox today. The PS3 smashes the xbox in terms of graphics and gameplay, there aren't as many games for PS3 but it's really started to pick up in the last few months. Blu-ray, good browser and it's a lot more versatile. Sony encourage you to upgrade the hard drive and even install linux and other operating systems on your ps3, all without voiding the warranty.

Wireless controller battery life on the ps3 last a hell of a lot longer than the xbox ones i've found. The XMB dashboard on the ps3 is also extremely well laid out.

yeah thats not to bad, but one of the downsides to the ps3 is the controller, The Xbox Controller fits perfectly, Looks Good and all the buttons are perfectly placed. Oh and I personaly think that the Xbox looks hot and isnt to big unlike the playstation3. Thanks for the input by the way. I encourage all your points!

I have a 360 and 2 weeks ago played my cousins wii for the first time and they are a lot more fun imo. The interaction and the fact you actually have to move makes it more fun to play then my 360

That is a good point! The Fact that I have to pay for XBOX live is really annoying, lucky enough I bridge my Live Connection to my computer, but some people who cant do that ALSO have to buy a wirless thing that clips on the back to alow internet connection, it costs about $150 i think. but yeah besides that Im still Loyal! Only because of Fable2 and COD4 is just so perfect on the Xbox

360 has good online support, but if you have a decent computer then the game selection is extremely narrow (that you can't get on PC).

That's how I justify having my PS3.

Lots of exclusives, good media support, free online (I play online extremely casually, so I wouldn't pay for xbl anyway).

problem is

Xbox 360 PRO (20GB drive etc) $399

vs

PS3 Console (40GB etc) $699

Hard to justify extra $300....If they were closer in the price the PS3 wins hands down.

it depends what sort of games your into i suppose, PS3 are slowly starting to bring out more games, but still no release date for Final Fantasy XIII

360 is still good but play my ps3 more and i've got the wii to play when mates are over for a laugh

Completely outselling the other two, which means the games for it will only get better. Developers and publishers will finally be realising that nintendo made the right choice with their 'piece of piss' [pun intended] console that the two HD ones were supposed to not worry about.

FABLE 2 is only out on 360 soooo i will have to say 360 becoz of that. But other than fable and a few other games oh and the controllers r better on xbox but ps3 would b better overall.

My mate has a PS3 and the games on it are pretty average, 360 has a way better range of games at the moment, and I find the controller much more comfortable, the trigger buttons on the ps3 are terrible!

Also with the 360 you can modify the firmware to play games you download, i'm yet to see that for the ps3, even if it did, you'd need a blu ray burner and the discs would be expensive.

best mate has a xbox 360, so ill be smashing some farce with him mainly.

1. ofcourse ps3 would have better gfx, it came out later.
2. of course xbox would have better and more games, it came out sooner.

also, i thought i may aswel buy joels xbox...ill use it sooner or later lol.

atm though its just a very expensive foot rest.
