GGCEVO Halo 3 Finals: Cut off date 21st of September

The cut off date for the GG CEVO Finals will be on the 21st of September 2008. As of this date, the ladders will be locked, and split into Professional and Intermediate.

From here, Professional and Intermediate will face off in a Round Robin finals system. When these games are completed, and the standings generated, the top 4 will play off in a Double Elimination bracket.

Finals Round Robin:

Round 1 - 1v8 2v7 3v6 4v5
Round 2 - 1v7 6v8 2v5 3v4
Round 3 - 1v6 5v7 4v8 2v3
Round 4 - 1v5 4v6 3v7 2v8
Round 5 - 1v4 3v5 2v6 7v8
Round 6 - 1v3 2v4 5v8 6v7
Round 7 - 1v2 3v8 4v7 5v6

Double Elimination Finals

Quarters:
1v4 Winner = A, Loser = B
2v3 Winner = C, Loser = D

Semis:
AvC Winner = E, Loser = F
DvB Winner = G, Loser = Eliminated

Finals
FvG Winner = H, Loser Eliminated and holds third place

Grand Final
EvH Winner = First, Loser = Second

Details closer to the date such as standings, maps and any other information will be posted closer to the date.

I'm looking to give time frames of a few days for each game so both captains can come to an amicable agreement on when to play the game. I'm aware you all have hectic RL schedules, so I don't want to interfere with them too much but I do need the games played in a prompt manner.

No, the cut off date is the 21st. The actual finals will be after the 21st

Two quick questions.

The top 8 mix it out with each other and then the two teams in the Grand Final, will receive $1000 and $500 respectively?

And when you play a team, do you only play the gametype put foward or do you have a best of 5 series..? Cuz some of the results are 1-0 or 3-0 etc.

1-0 results are forefeits on the ladder.

Yes, The ladder will have the positions screenshotted on Sunday 21st September, 11:59 pm.

Just to clarify after 21st the round robbin will run for 7 weeks, then after that we will have finals which will run for 3 weeks. Giving a total of 10 weeks after the 21st of September. Meaning the actual competition should finish by the 30th of November, roughly?

Give or take, yes - That's correct.

Do you think the comp has gone too long? I didn't want to call the finals too early; I wanted to give teams the chance to play games before moving into the finals.

Starks I hope you haven't answer this question already but for the Round robin does the higher seed host game 1 and 3 or all games?
