Sigh
You guys were that bad.
We would play with 4 and shitty weapons and still rolled other teams.
For a team I actually played against on a pretty regular basis when cp was around sykotik were probably one of the clans we enjoyed warring against the most because they were good players. There were the odd disagreement but we never had any real issues with how they played or their in game etiquette. I think few other players around at the moment were in top tier teams when sykotik were playing seriously bar a few of the longtimers. So I cant really comment on what it may have been like for some of the slightly lower ranked teams but we never had any issues.
Regardless, all teams should be held to this so can people stop living in the past and focus on ways to actually improve.
Geeez read into it more. I was just saying Whisper is a hypocrite... and he likes oiled up swedish men.
more things that should be added to that list is:
*cracking the shits and relo3ing after the 1st, 2nd or 3rd round.
*relo3ing constantly in a pug. i've seen it happen many-a-time and it results in everyone leaving.
I seem to find that once people start talking you lose that intensity of a war.
It doesn't feel like a normal war, It feels more like pub.
Nice write up voodz
i'm loling rather hard atm. +1
cough cough game space ladder cough cough barbarianzors cough
+1 Havoc - I can see teams using this as banter poddu!
Teams will get better from learning from their mistakes against teams focussing on using real tactics. When you start fooling around it isnt beneficial to either team. Also you give them the "choice". It isnt to say that either team just leaves, it would have to be agreed by both so if the team didnt mind getting thrased for experience they could easily play it out. And I am sure most probably would. But I think humiliating teams can be counter-productive to enticing them to keep on playing.
great write up mate.
cameron_1337 : **** this kpro is aimbotting and YOUR SHIT Is wallhacking good day
I agree with both havoc and voodz
Teams can only get better by playing better teams as experience is the key. Teams should not even consider playing other teams that are out of their league, they should decline the offer in irc pm rather than getting into a server and getting smashed back to the stoneage before calling the match off.
Teams that challenge or accept challenges from lower tier teams should expect to have an easier war which will not benefit them and will most likely be boring and a waste of time for themselves.
scrims and etiqutete aye, k snook and havoc pretty sure u were in a clan that was showing lack of respect and etiquette just b4 not saying it was u that was being disrespectful u were infact one of the ones who was being not being a fag, but some of the team were, spectating? calling us hackers? k
Did shak's 2nd half of his post make any sense to anyone else? Because to me i didnt understand the 2nd half of that post at ALL!
totally agree huk how are teams going to get better by smashing random pub teams, 16 - 0 it's just not going to get the team better, they'll just think they can beat any team lol.
No retrying when you die early in the round please kthanks.
It's all well and true that scrims are serious(?) and should have etiquitte and all that, but in the end it's still a game, and fun is to be had.
Too often when I war online, we lose to a better team, and the end game chat
is all "you're bad, learn to play cs, get some aim" etc etc.
We win against a team, and it's "you guys have no lives, nerds, hacks, stick to surf/wc3" blah blah blah.
Whatever happed to the friendly scrim, where in the end it was all "good game" we/you were outplayed, get better and try again?
Off topic (kindof?) but i think the general attitude is more of an issue.
Also, I disagree with the league thing, I love playing people better than me, because you learn so much.
Even if you get 16-0'd, if you take something from it, a new strat, flash point etc, it's well worth it imo.

Smart man, Good constructive post IMO
Maturity levels amongst the better players (despite age factor) leaves alot to be desired.
But you hit the nail on the head. I've learnt many of the strats I know now from playing other teams and seeing how they work from an oppositions point of view. And playing with them changing things to make them my own.
If they start getting stropy with you. Just ignore it dont get into an efight about it. Bantering back only puts you off your game, removes any fun you might get from waring, and if your losing just gives them ammo to keep slagging ya.

Yep, call me a dud but i have been in alot of lower tier teams.
Some of the gg-p teams saying stuff like "fix your skill level" , "clue the fk up", "Your bad diaf".
+ Global spamming random stuff.
sql were pretty good as a team imo, nice people even if they were smashing us they'd play to the end![]()

WHY?
tell u whats bad etiquette
teams turning sv_cheats on before ur team joins and the using wireframe the whole game.
*cough* Deviation *cough*
Welcome to the upper level of Counter-Strike: Source, where you are either ****, or **** talk those lower than you (as a general rule).
It's a fact of the game, and it's not gonna change anytime soon. If you want to do something constructive about it, get better at the game, beat them, and set a better example for the ones below you to follow.
Only time I call someone bad at css is if they say that I hack. Because lets face it if they think I cheat they are really terrible.
From experience the better teams won't banter you unless you say something to them or if you're smashing them and you're 'unknown'. If it's the former, you have it coming anyway, if it's the latter why do you care anyway...you're winning.
+ rep Voodz, very well put forward point.
Ive found that most teams, regardless of whether or not they are slut teams, pro teams or green teams, all go into scrims with the intention of playing seriously. Frustration quickly changes all of that, whether the green team manages to take a few rounds in a row off a pro team and the like. People use the fact that is a scrim to stop trying or to do the afore mentioned banter, using stupid weapons ect.
There are bad eggs in every team, and i reakon its more up to the team "leaders" to show a bit of leadership and conduct themselves in a proper manner, and make sure their team does the same. No matter how bad the war is, just grin and bare it and play it out to the end like good blokes.
Really Really GOod artivle and should be undertaken by all gamers out der.

Lol we ripped up some clan out of my league, feel sorry for them now.

I am 63% addicted to Counterstrike. What about you?
:O
I am 0% addicted to World of Warcraft. What about you?
:)
i know this is old, but i thought id have my say...
i agree with voodz and havoc..
you should scrim teams better then you, but there is no point scrimming teams who are way out of your league.
You only learn something when its a close match, and mistakes made lead to the loss.
Not when u loose 16-0 to a team who is just toying with you.
Thats my opinion anyway.
