open notepad and paste this in

    sv_cheats 1
    mp_limitteams 0
    mp_autoteambalance 0
    bot_join_team t
    bot_quota 5
    bot_difficulty 0

then name the notepad file when you go to save it bot.cfg then put it in your cstrike > cfg folder this way every time you create your server you can just type in console "exec bot" and your ready!

or just save all that stuff to listenserver.cfg and it will be loaded automagically.

    here's mine:

// server settings for local bot prac

    sv_cheats 1
    sv_pausable 1
    sv_accelerate 5
    sv_airaccelerate 5

    mp_limitteams 0
    mp_autoteambalance 0
    mp_dynamicpricing 0
    mp_startmoney 16000

    bot_join_team t
    bot_quota 5
    bot_difficulty 0

//changelevel aim_map // this crashes my css, so I took it out

Huk that was good, here something you can add to the guide.

    alias +duckslow "sensitivity 4"
    alias -duckslow "sensitivity 1.5"
    bind space "+duckslow"

Change the sens and the key that does it, but its great when you have to look left and right really fast, or want to jump over walls n do a 360 oO

Just out of interest, how long does it usually take for someone to develope good aim by practicing / using the same settings?

I've basically been praccing every day using the same settings for the past 4 months or so, haven't really noticed any HUGE improvements yet.

I meant how long in total (months or so) does it usually take people to get good aim with regular practice. I know it differs for everyone, and some people may take longer than others but I'm still interested to know.

Well i actually asked this on the immineNt furoms and they said that its not all about practising bots everyday .. that will only improve your aim , but to become a really strong player you should scrim / pug atleast 2 or even 3 times a day.

I scrim and pug quite often, I have a fair bit of clue... what seems to hold me back is my aim since sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad at the moment.

you guys need a "random" rating.
see theres aim, clue...but we all need to have a random touch, just to make sure we're having fun, and to make sure the enemy is just a little bit pissed off at you.
try using a shotty 2nd round in a scrim (if you win the 1st), scouting instead of awping, silencing your usp as cts 1st round, and simply not letting go of the forward key in the 1st 3 rounds (again, if you win the 1st). also, try to kill people through doors and walls as much as possible. i do these things all the time, and having an 8dig is the icing on the cake to ensure a fun scrim and an agitated enemy. and thats what its really all about.

Upload a demo of yourself somewhere, and i'll have a look. Might just be that net is fairly random, because that seems to be my major problem.

I suppose having 256k and thus having to have low rates to avoid major lag spikes doesn't help rego or the like, which could be a factor attributing to my "bad aim."

It is improving though, as Voodz told me the other day it could take a long time for one person and a month for another; obviously I'm the former of the two.

256k download. Well I'm not at home right now, so can't play CS:S. When I get home I'll make a demo of me playing against expert bots on blood_assault or something.

I realize it's just a matter of time and practice, but right now when my aim is bad is very frustrating and it does annoy me quite a bit.

You realise you probably have 64k upload? Therefore are playing on dialup?

No.1 tip for improving onlineness. 128k upload, at least ^^

256k or higher for teh win.

Though LAN is where it's at...

I know. I'm locked in on a 24-month contract, atm paying $60 for what I have now, which is a fkn rip off.

    Anakha:
I've attached a demo of me playing 3 expert bots on blood_assault. Keep in mind I'm tired and fkd so I don't think I did too well... I usually go to 200 kills aswell.

And a few times I kept doing like 98 in 1 and **** was really annoying.

Anyway, watch it and tell me what you think, and what I could improve on... I usually don't camp that much but yeah.

I said I don't normally camp AS MUCH (camping as in going behind the two wood things on either side of blood_assault), I barely camped at all. All I did was basically the same type of thing you did on blood_assault in your demo, just wanted some opinions.

First, I'd need to look at the thread lol.

EDIT: Keep in mind I'm not an awper, and that these are MY suggestions.

usp: if you are going to practice this, put the bots on knife only. Try taking them all down with less than 15 bullets.

    deagle: same as above

ak: dear god, stop MOVING with that 2nd bullet. the first one is fine, but you firing that 2nd one is useless, as it will always miss when you get scared and strafe away. Stand still when you fire, if you are going to fire more than one bullet, otherwise just aim for the headshot and strafe away.

m4: neck aim is good, didn't see anything really wrong with this, other than practice.

awp: aim at them as opposed to flicking them? premeditation would be a good thing to pick up with this as well, and easy to practice with bots as they are predictable.

    general notes:
    - TURN DWP OFF. Memorizing those prices intuitively and calculating on the spot what you can afford is a very good skill to practice.

    - No nades. Baaaaaaaaaaad. It's called aim practice for a reason.

    - Upgrade your net. You'll just default into really bad habits when you keep playing properly, but missing due to the choke/loss/ping. I'm fairly sure you can upgrade with who you are with, but can't change your provider.

    - Limit the number of bots on the server. 5 max, but play with less, if your comp can't handle it. FPS is the key here, as it shouldn't drop below 50, at ANY point. And that's an absolute bare minimum. The higher, the better.

    - "-tickrate 66" in launch options. Forces the created server to run at 66 tick, rather than default 33.

Thanks for the tips Anakha; I watched the demo again and took notice of what you said and I can see what you meant with the AK.
