Sorry but using crosshairs above 1800 is just bad... Learn to use one of the deault small/medium/large and you will improve a lot.

Only rando's with no aim use such tiny crosshairs. Your recoil control would be **** with such a small crosshair + you loose site of it.

There are only a few people who use crosshairs of that size and are actually good.

And adam 2500 crosshair on ANY resolution is tiny. The only thing you could do any decent is the occasional big deagle shot, other than that... BAD.

No insults meant.

You'll be shocked to here that I'm using cl_crosshairscale 6000 at the moment.

I can't aim for doggy biscuits no more, I used to be able to aim very well with it, so I'll try your suggestion with the medium or small crosshair.

I just whacked it on medium and it was heaps easier! Never listen to your instincts with a PC game!

A lot of top tier professional Source players use more then one xhair scale, they'll bind it to mouse3 for example.

800x600
600 - Generally used for most scenarios.
9999 - Generally used for tight positioned, shots.

Large is always nice, most fps configs will disable bullet shells (r_decals 0 - set it around 300)this way you'll be able to notice where your bullets are hitting which is where you should be focusing (important, obviously).

voodz told me he uses 3000... guess hes a noob player then hey.
Its all about preferance, you cannot say every single good player uses a large crosshair, its not true.

Voodz uses 1280x1024 resolution so the heads are fairly small, his probably already comfortable with his recoil control because his been playing for so long there would be no need for an abnormally large crosshair.

If you look at the best Source teams configs you'll actually notice their scales aren't too big the ideal size would be something thats around the same height and width as the player models.

@Clarity I may have over exaggerated "a lot of people" but I did ask Eversor one time on irc (one of the best euro players) why he used such a small scale he told me he uses two, both are binded to mouse3, ones small the others medium.

Very few people use a bind to make there crosshair smaller or bigger. One single crosshair is the best, changing your crosshair to suit certain situations is just silly.

3000 crosshair lol... As i said only FEW people use crosshairs 2000+ and are decent.

My preference is cl_crosshairscale 600-1600 for any resolution. no more no less.

it's all about picking a setup that feels ok and then sticking with it. dont' change your sens, rez, etc unless you have a solid reason for doing so.. and THEN dont' change it - give it at least a week or two to see if you settle in.

I've been on this setup since I got back from holidays - at first I couldn't aim for ****e since I'm using a higher sens, but now I'm used to it and it feels natural.

Maybe like jump as well.

IMO all those fancy mouses and **** dont do anything like. I've got a microsoft standard mouse thing. And a cloth mouse pad. And I have reasonable to good aim. I tryed using my friends g5 and it was like what the fuuuuck is this fat heavy piece of crap

The g5 has weight cartriges and various DPI settings... in other words u can make it mimic most mice! (MS Mouse is 400 DPI and light, so u can adjust the g5 to have that. I have both btw). The MS Mouse isnt that responsive either as it doesnt utilize the USB bandwidth as the G5 does, and its makes a BIG difference. The g5 also has 800 DPI and 2000 DPI though never used 2000... very sensitive as mentioned by other posters here...

crosshair scale 1800 mouse sens 1.9 all good cuz i tend to aim slightly lower each time i burst so recoil starts goin up a bit for the AK.

Well this clears things up why i cant aim. All those small activities have been done on my other hand.

NO WONDER IM BAD

Just in regards to the mousefix. I just added it to my registry, and went to see what difference it made.

If i moved my mx510 fast, i could 180 within about 5cm, however if i moved my mouse slowly it took about twice that distance to 180.

Isn't this what the mousefix is meant to fix?
