The games changed alot since then I would update it but tbh the rest is just learning/experience which is hard to explain to people, the basics are all there for ppl to begin with i think

I don't think that matters riot particularly as its a guide for new players/teams. We all were new once, Thats kinda the reason its 'stickied' HuK's guide to aim is still getting regular views as well and its been around since the internet

nothing in this guide about how new teams need to hold their tongue, keep their heads and generally stfu.

New teams should always look to warring the best team they can and when given the opportunity to war a cevo i/p team they should display some respect. after all, that cevo i/p team is basically getting the raw end of the stick there.

that more than anything is what new aus source teams need to learn.

their time will come. arrogance will get u no where etc etc etc.

when the guide was written there were a few bad eggs but primarily the competitive spirit was still well n truly good... now the banter has gotten way out of control I agree definitely should be apart of the guide I may edit the guide and include something on sportsmanship. Cheers skoney.

as much as i agree with everything you've written, i wouldn't waste your time.

People are people, they'll read your guide because they're willing to learn and become better source players because of the heights they desire to achieve. But you can't teach someone to have respect. You can give people advice how to improve their game. But by the time people come to gotgames i'd say they're about 15, midway through puberty, and already have all their basic, daily intrisic values drilled into them from both the nurture and nature they've been surrounded by for the past 15 years. People will be themselves, wether that be respectful or a wanker, based on all their previous experiences. While your game guide is a great idea, i would suggest only hinting at really game orientated stuff. Telling people to be polite or have respect after their values and virtues have been driven into them, is like trying 2 sell ice to an eskimo.

    my 2c

the polite respectful ones will do so by nature, and it will help their game 10 fold.

The others will be stuck in the pits of cevo-a and beyond forever. Just look at the millions of examples on this forum thus far

Sadly I believe your completely right. Its sad that the rise in immaturity / decrease in attitude/sportsmanship values has occured drastically in the last coupla years as the gg community has grown. I'd say more and more of the css community are those teenagers who talk sh*t behind there monitors just for the sake of doing so.

Respectfully, I'd have to disagree about not bothering to put in something about respect. (lol -_-)

Sometimes, it's not the end result that is important, but the attempt that is required. I'm sure that there will be people who at least attempt it when reading this guide, and we all know it only takes one person to ignite a bitter shitslinging contest. I also think people underestimate how much newer players actually do take in and follow these kinds of guides initially, especially when trying to fit in and thrive in such a niche community as this.

EDIT: New members joining the community

30min of effort, and I'm sure that at least one person has benefited from it. Same as the negative things can have a snowball effect, so do positive things. I'll be happy to help you out if you wish.

same. i may not have ever reached cevop, but ive always kept myself and my teams inline when warring other teams, especially to teams well above our own skill level.

i have more than a few things to say about player/team conduct and respect when in a war.
