Advanced Strategies for (CT) de_dust2 by Paul

After playing half life’s series of games for roughly 5 years and being a caller for so long Ive learnt a lot about good strats for many maps some of the strats coming from very well known and respected callers from many lan and online teams. First of all the basic’s are easy strats that most teams will expect such as on d2, the standard setup’s are. – 2b, 2 short, 1long. Or 1 b, 1 mid, 2 short, 1 long. Basically the more professional and confident teams would use the standard; 1b, 1 mid (good awper), 2 short, and 1 strong player at long. They would also have a stock point man who pushes short and one that holds back a bit and sets up boosts and stacks. So basically over the next few weeks I will be releasing CT pistol rounds for various war maps which will help the less confident teams win those basic pistol strats.over the next few weeks I will be releasing CT pistol rounds for various war maps which will help the less confident teams win pistol rounds.

CT –

Pistol Round:
Most professional teams play it by spawn and have a basic setup. The strat I’ve always used as used by many interstate professional teams, will not name! is a defensive long, 1 agro short, 2 middle, 1 b defensive. The main goal for the CT is to get the players low by using grenades and slow down rushes with flashes. (The basic buy is Defuse Kit + Nade + Flash)

Long Player – Picks and counts players as they enter ct side of long. Makes a quick call and players rotate by how many the player calls. The long player is determined by the spawn, closest long will take this position. (This player is required to boost the short player up to short for the quick agro pick)

Short Player – 2nd closest to A and must be extremely fast with the boosting if they are to make the strat work. (this player must buy NADE + SMOKE + FLASH) Once up onto short stairs he will flash it then smoke lower dark then push up catwalk n spot the players rushing short/middle if seen nades and falls back to stairs waiting for a rush. (makes a fast call counting the players)

B Player – Closest to B. This player uses the basic buy. This player picks b from the window. He will run in pre flash b then fall back to window and hold. This players main goal is to get a early call for the quick rotate to retake B. MUST GET THE NADE INTO THE BACK MID OF B BOX TO LOWER PLAYERS.

2 Middle players – The two middle spawned players will hold mid. 1 will spot cat walk n try get binks n get the early pick for the short player. The other player with stand close to the doors trying to pick the guy picking middle. (Glock vs USP = USP Winner.) This player is the rotater so if a call is made he is first there to backup and will get the nade into them. The other player who is spotting cat walk needs to be sharp n precide so I recommend the sharpest aimer to take this position.

Retakes -

Retaking Long –
The player holding long MUST count the players n try spot the bomb to make the rotate work well… you don’t want them to goblin plant B. It is so easy to kill them while crossing long. You just need to all stand in CT Spawn strafing n binking n just nade into the site easy kills. You must remember it may be a split so the short player needs to always be watching short so he isnt “gayed.”

Retaking B –
The close middle player will firstly go until 5 players are spotted or the bomb is then all players will gren into site then all flash over and force the retake, first player checking gay spot (left of B) 2nd going for behind middle b box and the other 3 going random positions. (Don’t retake from dark)

Retaking short –
You cant do much in this situation but have the long player still hold long and the guy in middle try bink them all and the player holding short nade and try spam them with the usp. The middle close player can easily push up middle and anal them while the other players flash/nade them from ct spawn.

This is a pretty advanced strat that will need to be dry ran, but once its known and everyone knows how to retake you will find your self winning those pistol rounds you were losing previously. As most of you know the pistol strat is a must win for any competitions as it can lead to winning the next 2 rounds to get you a quick head start. I hope this gets all those callers out there thinking of more difficult strategies for their team. You may of seen it used by NoA back in 04-05 *i think* cant remember exactly but its original and its very effective when worked properly. I hope this encourages callers to use different strats than the basics.

Is it really paulske? Not that it wouldn't make sense.

He was caught cheating a while back in logic; back then he would like to hold B by himself for obvious reasons. When he was caught he disappeared for a while but everyone knew he would come back. ~

I have also heard he caked LAN in Adelaide.

Alright, i'll admit i've cheated on 1.6 a fair few times for mucking around under aliase's and playing with my mates from real life. But im deadset when i say i never cheated on css as "paulske" i dont know if there was an imposter or something but i never cheated once you can ask anyone in logic i had a few good games and i had a few bad wars, and that video released of me when i preshot a wall was because it was called on vent, you can ask anyone in the actual team, so please dont start romours when you havnt seen the proof, just because im "paulio" and everyone knows me as a cheater doesnt mean im a cheater, just gimme a break im trying my best for css. and who is going around saying i caked eswc.sa qualifiers? i played in a team of people that dont even know 1.6 and me and peikO were the only decents, we could of never of won a scrim with duds lol. So basically just gimme a chance i've admitted to everything and im sorry what ever "rage" i've caused.

The fact is i dont bring cheating or dodgy things to Source, try playing a game for 5 years, never needing to lan because there was no lan scene. You get bored and when you got mates that like having a bit of a muck around you can result to using cheats. I dont think its fun now, its cruel to the opposition. And like i said im sorry to anyone that was on the receiving end. Just trust me on this one it will never happen again. I'll be releasing P2 today (wed) i hope it helps!

I realise this post is a few weeks old but anyway.

Now if you didn't cheat in Source why do you have a new STEAM_ID? They weren't available at that number back when you were playing.

Because you being the chronic 1.6 cheater should know that you only get VAC banned from games with the same engine. Source and the modified Quake engine (Golden Source) that is 1.6 being two different engines.

And was it just me or did anyone else notice how long his sentence went for; excuse after excuse after excuse. Generally if your telling the truth you don't need to add so many excuses.

Ask anyone in logic about this, i never had my own steam account for css as i never had the money to buy it, hence i never got to put it on my 1.6 account and if you dont beleive me that i have a 4 digit and a 5 digit account, go look up on google you'll see me registered to comps with my 5 digy and 4 digy for GA. I only recently got this account because i swapped my mate. I'll only be using that until i actually get around to getting a credit card off someone to buy it.

i found this a good read also, this will definitely help new comers breaking into the CSS scene

on the second round of d2 i found a good strat for t's. Get 2 people to wait outside long double doors and then the other 3 push through and when they have pushed through short (note bomber goes with them) the 2 at long wait 10 seconds then walk through short.

This works because people at B realize that help is needed at short and most of the time they will go through short to help out the ct team. The 2 at long anal them while the ct concern is to save the team, not worrie about getting analed.
