    Advanced Strategies P3: de_inferno

Welcome to another guide by Paul. In this guide i will cover information about de_inferno and an advanced strat for your pistol round on the CT sided half. Firstly, de_inferno is an FPS hogging map, adjusting to the sluggish movement can be quite hard at start but once you get used to it, it will be just like normal... so everytime you play inferno try to get a 5 minute warmup... so dont spend your warmup time tking team mates.

Basically the run down of inferno is that the opposition can approach B bombsite from many ways. This site needs to be locked down. The way you lock it down is by having 1 player watch each way they can hit the site (as usual). Standard setup is. 2 A, 1 Left Middle B, 1 Right (CT Spawn) Middle B, 1 House (carpets). That is the standard setup for normal gun rounds and sometimes even pistol rounds for some teams. However holding on pistol rounds just isn't the way to win them, most teams do a hard rush or pick then hit a site. You need to him them hard and get them worried.

On pistol round spawn you will all be set out usually 3 close to A and 2 close to B or vise-versa. You want to get to the sites before the opposition is able to flash you causing panic and bad calls. So where ever you spawn closest to your goal is to get the flashs into mid/banana as quick as possible, and spot down mid. With all players holding B you need to all be at mid waiting for them with the first guy there spotting middle calling it for the rest and calling if they hit A. The A guys flash over and peak to see if there in banana if they are flash over again and try nade into them and fall back make the call and wait for rotations to rotate. Say if there are none spotted in middle or b the middle players push middle and flash 2nd mid and the banana guys push upto mid and watch mid while the middle guys watch 2nd mid. Once spotted early call and rotate to take down the team.

This is a pretty basic strat that will work 9 times out of 10 if worked properly, its hard for the T's to get back into the round after they've felt a few nades hit them and are worrying about where your team are positioned because there low hp and will be killed easily. Retaking will not be required with this strat because you push you dont allow them to get into the site. However A is a different story but the middle guys will push and get anal them which will just cause dramas for the T's.

The main thing in this strat is getting the nades to hit the T's, and be able to withstand the flashes from them and use your aim to take them all down. It will take a bit of practise to get used to pushing as hard as you have to but once you know it you will catch many teams off guard and they will be intimidated for the next couple of rounds. REMEMBER DONT PLAY AGRO EVERY ROUND!!! :P

    Thanks for reading.

Why are you using CSS terms for Inferno...

I stopped reading as soon as you messed up the Site names.

Theres alot of stuff you havnt covered and thats pretty much a basic write up for css inferno. Either getting lazy with your guides or showing that you dont know too much about css inferno.

The write up is only to cover the pistol round strat, not rifle round's, theres no other way to explain that strat unless i could say it on mic and upload it somewhere?

its great that your trying this but no matter what no strat will work 9 times out of 10 i am telling you now, no matter how many times u dry run a strat each team plays differently and you could dry run to your hearts content but then get a randy team like (si) perfect example who just rushed down banana with 4 players and smashed euphoric in the ct pistol round because they'd clearly stratted a nice strat but it didn't include getting smashed by 4 ramboes going down banana because 1. no body does it! :P strats are good but there more important to give your team a direction you can never predict accurately what the other team is going to do so if you lay down a solid strat with no "loose" options your going to run into strife my 2c paul

i personally think inferno is all about making two picks one at A and one at B leaving the t team or the ct team in a bad situation if there ct's 2 men down one site is going to be very weak if there T's they simply do not have the numbers to try a decent fake. as the bomb sites are reasonably far apart inferno is really about which team as T works both sites effectively causing confusion on the ct team. but thats my opinion and every team caller is going to have different opinions so yeah. but tbh inferno is one of our strongest maps (thats when the full f4f lineup is playing) so yeah
The fact flamethrowers exist proves at some point in time someone said to themselves you know what? I really want to set that guy on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Exactly right, but i think on the pistol round ct's need to come out firing because its easy to get a pistol round on T side of inferno as theres so many flashes and places to rush.

Thanks for the info though, sorry i didnt include much on this one.

Agreed with havoc. "get 2 picks" is not a strat. "Do X then do Y to get 2 picks" is a strat.

you cant say anything until your in the momement, and what havoc said ur not always able to get 2 picks, basically comes down to the spur of the momement, if your getting owned, or if ur winning, i could sit here all day... lol

Tbh it's great that you're writing these paul, it will be great information for new teams however I believe the best advice for a new team on any map is:

Practice it as a team, keep the communication active, correct, and brief. Trust your team mates, and hopefully they will trust you back, this will make things so much easier to hold because you can just focus on your own holding. And if something isn't working don't be afraid to change it, because more times than not this will be for the best.

    my 2c.

This certainly isn't up to the standards of the first two guides Paul, but it's still helpful for newer teams

    What lumi says makes sense!
