Has anyone had this before? Its new in my store and quite pricey. Just thought I'd get some opinions before I blow my money.

Yeah ive had it, its been out a while, i had it in a can, but u can find it in a stubbie, i think i payed 16 bucks a 6 pack or sumthing not bad prob equal with jimbeam imo and a little cheaper

Slate is pretty bad bourbon. It's the bourbon they serve at most pubs/crap bars clubs. It's a blended bourbon meaning it's a mixture of multiple bourbons.

It's kinda like the karloff of bourbon.

It's ****... it tastes like sweet metho.. But then what do you expect from a "chicago" style... they got their style from the prohibition era when cheap and nasty did the trick... Which is nothing to brag about really...

i dont think its too bad, they had it free when i went corporate to the GP one year, i normally drink long black jim or turkey but didnt mind it at all

mm have had slate and it's not a favourite... tastes alot like jb but has a horrible after taste... do not recommend unless you have a throat of steel LoL

mmmmmmm bourbon, after much (**too much sometimes) taste testing, Slate is well down the list in its price range (with cougar and woodstock)

try the Beams Choice (Green) or Rye (yellow) if you want to dodge a hangover at a cheap price

shop around for Makers Mark, you can usually get it on special and it is right up there with top shelf bourbon at mid range price
