My mum and Michael Jackson

Here's an interesting story my mum told me today.

My mum is the same age as michael jackson (MJ). Back when they were 17, she worked in a florist store in perth city, and a black american with an afro walked into the store, looking around. He went up to my mum and bought a flower for his sister (janet) and asked if there was somewhere he could get a drink, and she mentioned a small bar not far from there. Being the charmer MJ is, he asked her to take him there. So she did.

As they were sitting and talking, my mum completely oblivious to who it was, he asked her what type of music she liked. She responded with the black soul music like the jackson 5 etc, and he goes "Well, my name is Michael Jackson." And she was like . They were in perth back in 1975ish incognito for a holiday.

This event was recalled on a telethon by Molly Meldrum some years ago, like 20 or so, when he was explaining that noone could find where he was at one stage, and he was spotted in Perth near a florist store.

BTW, this was before MJ was a huge solo artist, but nonetheless .

Anyone else have family relatives meet/greet famous people?
