Kaku currently holds the Henry Semat Chair and Professorship in theoretical physics and a joint appointment at City College of New York, and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, where he has lectured for more than 30 years. Presently, he is engaged in defining the "Theory of Everything", which seeks to unify the four fundamental forces of the universe: the strong force, the weak force, gravity and electromagnetism. He was a visiting professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and New York University. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He is listed in Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and American Men and Women of Science.
He has published extensively in string theory since 1969. In 1974, along with Prof. K. Kikkawa, he wrote the first paper on string field theory, now a major branch of string theory, which summarizes each of the five string theories into a single equation. In addition to his work on string field theory, he also authored some of the first papers on multi-loop amplitudes in string theory, the first paper on the divergences of these multi-loop amplitudes, the first paper on supersymmetry breaking at high temperatures in the early universe, the first paper on super-conformal gravity, and also some of the first papers on the non-polynomial closed string field theory. Many of the ideas he first explored have since blossomed into active areas of string research. His current research focuses on the difficult problem of revealing the underlying nature of M-theory and string theory, which he believes are not in their final form. Until the theory is completed, it is premature, he believes, to compare the theory too closely to experimental data. Some interesting videos to watch: Summary: really intelligent guy, very interesting videos. Watch.

I was fascinated by M / String theory when I first read about it, an interesting theory to say the least. But, all of the stuff he is talking about is beyond our lifespan, because civilization as he correctly said is not advanced enough, to even begin really testing the theory. so I don't really care.
Wake up, eat mi goreng, play cs, fuck my gf. Rinse and repeat. me no worry If you want to learn more, (This guys also a speaker) part 1 - 12

heh, reminds me of all the anti string theory jokes in Freemans Mind
"it would so make my day if we could disprove string theory"

LOL, firstly it was an Indian moon probe that discovered water on the moon first. NASAs discovery was later.
http://sify.com/news/indias-probe-fo...zt4chiged.html It went in this order. 1st discovery: Indian impacter/instrument on an Indian probe. 1st confirmation: NASA instrument on an Indian probe. 2nd confirmation: NASA probe/impacter. Secondly NASAs funding has been slashed for the manned moon mission is unlikely to go ahead, it will be the Chinese/Indians/Russians? that have the bases on the moon not the almighty United States of Amerikha. I was watching and I was not impressed. Seems like just any other guy trying to make a buck from a Physics degree. Last edited by Randlol; 09-02-2010 at 09:08 PM.. |
