Yeah, I guess I'll do an official write up later today, but the main things people keep asking me.

Yes, Archaic's PC's actually were dogshit.

Yes, SQL's PC's weren't too crash hot either (they got randomed by some shit team mostly because of this)

Yes, We did replace Archaic's PC's one by one as other got eliminated they helped out by letting us use theirs
(though I think topguN and Havoc has dogshit ones for sql game, but finally got good ones for sublime game? not sure - had to fix other people's problems throughout the day, barely got to manage my own team)

Yes, we got to 3 teams remaining - SQL (undefeated), Archaic (16-13 v SQL), Sublime (16-0? against SQL). This is where the event got cancelled.

After Wookie did his best to con some more time out of the venue, he got rejected with only like 45-60mins. Clearly the end of this competition could go anywhere from 2 hours to 3.5hrs regardless. My first option to the three teams (that I came up with) was - I pay for everyone to enter and finish the event at a local lan. 3 People had to leave. This means the only way this comp will get played out is online.

Nobody at all was keen for online to decide money/placings. So we split the money $800 each way, and Archaic and Sublime both veto'd $100 to SQL for A) they had most expenses B) were already definately in the Grand Final. Making a split pot SQL: $1000, Archaic: $700, Sublime: $700 - no winner, no loser (apart from everyone who was already out).

I think we were going to run an online exhibition to get out all 3 teams frustrations - but no money would be given NOR would anyone be declared 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Regardless of your opinions of the three teams - we were still at a point where anyone could have won; SQL could have won 2 maps to finish, Archaic would have won 3, Sublime could have won 3.

With all the randomness with millions of things I had to deal with - both Gamestah and CS:S - I think the deal we ended up getting for our players was the best that could be made - and the players were the ones who refused the lan cafe option - not wookie, not nateus, not myself. All teams were very keen to finish the event and prove themselves in multiple different ways, but unfortunately 3 players had to leave (1 from sublime - didn't see the other two voices that yelled it out)

In regards to making Sublime forfeit because they left early; please realise they left late regardless. We left the event (Archaic at least) 6 hours past event end time. Forfeiting someone at that point is just unfair. They were at the event already to play up until the last hour or so when they had to leave for work amongst other things.

The point being, neither the teams, nor specific admins at the end (Wookie, Cloud, Syntax in part) were responsible for the event being canned. Nateus and Myself bartered with the event via Wookie to try and sort what we could, but what we ended up with was A) 100% Better than what was offered to our players initially and B) The best that could be done given the circumstances.

I am yet to hear a complaint about the final decisions being made from any player in the 3 teams - because they were there and knew what could be made of what little we had a 1am. (I even managed to get a lot of them free shit for the inconvenience) The only true rages/trolls are mostly from people who weren't there, or aren't a member of the three teams.

it ran over time because of:

    1) people taking ages to start games and to .r and to start halfs
    2) starting too late on sunday (even if it started @ 2 it would've ran overtime, but probably still finished)
    3) the finals bracket was fucked

when/if we get the demos you'll see when the games start and you'll see how long it took...

Dude, first of all, it's sqL. Of course I think it's at the very least somewhat random. The fact that I'm now guessing you and iRoffle were in that team is news to me. Neither of you so much as said Hi to Boomser or myself - had no idea you were even there... ?

the team was devastation, neither total or i were in it. dev have been around for a while now, both online and in sa lan.

i introduced myself to everyone but archaic by choice

we (gmoney) had a manager, so we aren't random?

    gmoney 16 > klaus 9

    sql 16 > devastation 12

    arc 16 > gmoney 2
    sql 16 > sublime 6

    sql 16 > arc 12

sql vs winner of arc vs sublime

    noobint 16 > devastation 12

    sublime 16 > gmoney 7

Next time I will just pocket all the prizes :P

Should be good to re-match sql/sublime (& even iM) in the future once we are all solid teams (All were dec/jan new teams really)

The servers were dong this really trippy thing where they'd lag on the last kill of the round. Was quite exciting to see a 1v1 and then just lag while one of them dies.

Keen to play some games online vs arc/sublime for fun anyway pity OZi left for Asia today, We lost 14 rounds to that team (devastation) because we didn't com at all or get into the game and didn't expect them to be able to play well at all from the previous day the teams we had played you could of fallen asleep nearly and won "no offense intended to these teams" they just had no skill or aim at all. But yeh credit to dev for waking us up really made us work to win that game and they had some fairly sharp players (cant remember alias just remember few sharp shots getting laid on my doam).

man those devastation randoms getting 14 rounds....lol

Thanks zeke, it was an intense match.

Still had fun at the lan even though of the major fuckups. Worst part was having to wait for arc to fix their pcs for our first match which took at least an hour :S

I tried telling everyone to be careful because I noticed devm!x were really sharp vs Archaic in groups but no one listened and it would of cost us any money. Next time listen to your caller!! I'll play an online match but keep in mind LAN is totally different.

You're right epic rape in that match against arc.

That was on day one though epic lag + down one player so grabbed some slut. And did anyone else get some mad virus at LAN. Me and speed did, like a bazzillion svhosts in my task manager chewing up cpu powah D:

As iRoffle said neither of us were in the team, I just think that Devastation earned the 14 rounds against SQL, and didn't get them by luck. I didn't introduce myself because we don't speak on the net, and I didn't think you'd give a damn

so let me get this straight

because SQL won only by 2 rounds against Devestation 16-14

that means that Devestation would beat Archaic 16-14 right !? RIGHT!??!?

    hehehe

theres alot of rounds missing there gav

    upper brackets

    Noob INT > Nesreca 16-12

    Nesreca > Immortal 16-8

    Archaic > Nesreca 16-0

    Nesreca > Klaus 16-9

    GMOney > Nesreca 16-8

LOl yes we had.. alot of games
