yeah im up for it, would be a god place for new clans (like mine) to get out there..
p.s if you need any elp with stuff i can help out.
If you guys want. I can startup an OGN-amateur competition - league style (where no gg-i teams can play).
I'll scrap the OGN ladder and push forward a huge ****off league style system. With multiple divisions. And you will be allowed to select when you want to play your matches (maximum of 6 reschedules) - either on a competition hosted server, or on an agreed clan server - SourceTV demos are your responsibility.
Sort of a league for the community.
Unfortunately due to my resources, I won't be able to provide much OGN staff to referee matches, so this will have to be a community driven event with someone taking the head role. I'll setup the infrastructure, but it'll be up to you guys to maintain it and make it a huge **** off tournament. Interested?
Heres an example;

The ladder site doesn't have the best functionality, but it works if you take your time to learn to use it. So yeh. If you guys are willing to move ahead, i'll need a head admin (which will probably be deF|ler or musashi) and plenty of eager refs (not reffing in the gg-i). It'll be purely driven by you guys (the community). So how well it works, really depends on how passionate you are to make it work.

can GT play?
LOL. I guess so. Anyone not in GG-i. It's really up to the community. I wanna scope out to see how mature this community is, and whether or not they can pull through an event for themselves - instead of being spoon fed one.
You guys all rally for competitions, but it's a lot of hardwork to actually push it through. So yeh. Lets see how this goes ey. It could be a hit, or, it could be a flop. Eitherway, it's in your hands. Select your admins, and I can make it happen. Def|ler or musashi will be acting as head - this is non negotiable as they are head admins of OGN.
Id be up to help out![]()
dont be mean just cause im bad![]()
Would teams consisting of players from GG-i be allowed to play?
Eg, my LAN team. we have 2 f4f members, myself, and 3 members not from GG-i.
Admins must remind source players to buy their ammo. - Losty on the GG CSP COMP
I believe in the Golden Rule — The Man with the Gold . . . Rules.

I don't really care. As long as the actual teams don't play. Up to you guys really. Discuss and we'll see where it heads.
keen

haha Im keen, I surgested a ladder/comp for lower div teams awhile ago on gotgames and I got flamed by every high tier player out there saying ( No one wants to watch shit****s war ect ect ) And I was rather offended.

*puts hand up for ref*
OGN iinet hate's me for some reasons, i live in NZ although i can play on GA, GS, internode, 3FL and all the other major networks but not OGN anyidea?
MacBook lol
#blitzkrieG
In the past that was the case because Telstra routed iiNet from melb to syd and back to melb again. This would cause horrid pings for people in WA and Tazzy. And even SA. So this issue has been resolved and I think you shouldn't have any of those problems anymore.
Though I have no ref experience, I'd be sure to lend a hand on any night but wednesday/most thursdays... if you're desperate :P
NICE REPLY MATE
sound like i pretty fine ideas buddies![]()
im sure #iFE would be keen seeing as though GA is ****ing shit all randy teams just to get to war some decents. were in!
sounds good IMO as cain said it would most likely be better then GameArena
I was actually thinking of starting a similar thing for GES, but everything is down and seems to take ages with GES -.-
OGN servers > GA servers > GES servers
sounds good
I'm in the process of testing a ready up script. So we may not need refs. Unfortunately we will only have 1 server to work with. I may be able to organise a 2nd one.
good idea corona, im without a active team atm, if the matches are on 1 night i could be able to help ref.
So basically its gonna be GA ladder except no formalities and diff servers![]()
maybe less randoms??
Zizou, Zizou, Zizou!
Nice, I endorse this product and / or event.
It's not a ladder. It's a league. Just like the gg-i, each team (per division) will have to play each other over a certain number of weeks. From there, the top 2 in each division will procede to the finals for an elimination knockout.
We will try and provide as many refs as possble - however, that will be depandant upon how many ppl volunteer.
I'll setup a channel, ruleset and the servers. From there i'll recruit some admins and we'll get this thing started.
Keen. Australia needs an amatuer league like this.
its not a ladder. similar to CAL in the states.
i'm not sure about recent changes, but as far as i know, in source it has 3 leagues, Open Main and Invitational.
Any new team will have to start in open, then a top certain teams will move into main etc.
Ah ok Corona, big difference then. I was thinking 'open ladder' from my skim reading of the posts. Definately a position their, but ultimately why not just turn it into gotgames main open league or something (similar to cal, but combine main+open). Perhaps gotgames can sponsor and ogn can combine and there can be an official gotgames main league, and the teams that impress from that over time can get moved up? ideas, ideas.
Well. I can setup a CAL style league. But for now, we'll leave it as open for everyone. After we pull through this season, we can setup a sort of intermediate league for the finalists. And I guess from there, you will move on to the gg-i.
Likewise, teams dropped from the gg-i, will have to play in the OGN-intermediate. Or something like that. Give it time, and i'm sure with some good feedback from ppl, it will evolve into something everyone is keen to be a part of.
I represent both OGN and gotgames (and fusionlan). Naturally OGN also wants a piece of the pie, and theoretically, OGN already sponsors gotgames as we provide a dedicated sourcetv service capable of handling up to 560 specs to broadcast the gg-i matches. I will probably be speaking with hybrid to merge these two concepts into 1 big CAL style league with OPEN, MAIN and INVITE.
*wink *wink Hybrid. You know what i'm talking about. :P

work out the ogn website or like make it so you can just get the teams steamids etc and give it to a ref and they register it.
the ogn site is off its head
other then that good idea
where do people volunteer to ref etc
Yeah that would be fun, I will begin to learn how to use ogn its like learning a new program.
alive n shit
Corona, i like it. Pretty much what id like to see done. Even maybe GG-i can be gotgames and the intermediate/open can be OGN or something, partnership? Im sure something can be worked out in the long run.
looks good 2 me.
Musashi comes on about once a month now corona, he finally got himself a woman and spends 99% of his time at her house with no pc. So i doubt he will be up for it and from my dealing with def he seems like the perfect candidate. Just my thoughts.
sounds like a FANDIDDILLITASTIC idea... and yeah i would really care if some top team that rnt in gg-i play... cept mayb RpM... :S umm yeah and i am very will to help set it up... just let me no if u want any help at all mate
