eRest and GG invite

A sad day for AUS/NZ CSS eSports.

It's extremely offensive to both GotGames and the commmunity that eRest get invited to the GG-i competition, and then decide to disband and leave the competition a week later.

For me, personally, this is a disgusting day for AUS/NZ CSS eSports. I really don't care about the circumstances regarding the breakup of the team. You don't take part to rally for a professional Counter Strike Source competition, and then dog it after you are invited. What type of message does this give to people like myself, Hybrid and potential sponsors?

The community is simply not mature enough to invest in yet?

The next gg-invite competition = stable teams only. I don't care how good your players are. If you have a history of not being able to keep a team for longer than 3 months, then expect not to be invited to the next gg-i.

Maybe CS just doesnt have enough mature, dedicated players to go professional, the culture surrounding CS was allways going to be a barrier to break through, lets hope persistence pays off and that hybrid and the gang can get it right. Maybe all the other top tier clans will learn from this also and try to raise the bar a little. Hybrid and the other guys cant do it by themselves, top tier clans are going to have to put up a professional front or in the end its no better than a pub ladder like GA.

This is nowhere near the first example of un-professionalism, the forums need to be cleaned up, its fine for a thread to go off track, im more reffering to threads that shouldnt even be allowed to begin. The post by scott and livid about choked is a prime example, when i looked at that I laughed and thought "how pathetic"!! One of the, if not the best CSS clan in Australia, and here they are posting shit that you would expect from some clan nobody has ever heard of.

Basically what im saying is, how are people going to be able to take GG seriously when youve got shit like this posted in the forums (from one of the premier clans in AUS). Something needs to be done to get the focus of GG back on to professional esports. The more and more you think about it, as much as a transparent and free community seems like a great thing, with people as immature as the ones trolling these Proffesional forums, what hope does anyone have. If you want something to be proffesional, you have to act in a professional manner. Otherwise clans are not going to take it seriously, they will think "ahhhh its not that big of a deal anyway" and off they go.

This is just my opinion, this is just the feeling i get when coming to these forums ect so if you dont agree with me thats fine. Either way Hybrid is a very dedicated bloke and im sure it will smoothed over.

On behalf of the team we apologise for doing this. GotGames is a highly respective and important asset to the CSS community.

I myself was clearly against this break-up for this exact reason and decided to make a stand, we owe to much to the GotGames community and the sponsors who have approached us. I offered to leave eREST so that the newly formed team could keep the name, the sponsors, the reputation, and the privilege to participate in the GotGames Invite Comp.

Anyhow, thanks to scaR, we may have an eRest team to still compete in the GG-i. It won't be the best players, but hopefully it will be a team that can see the competition through to the end, and maybe cause an upset here or there.

Sorry guys this is off-topic but i am unable to create a new thread which i find rather frustrating... I am making this post regarding octinium which nuke has mentioned in the thread where choked are challenging anyone who consider them hacks (lol). As far as i know this program is a 3rd party program that scans for hacks on your hard drive and sends screenies to server admins (i may be way off base) just wondering how hard is it to implement this program into the actual gotgames environment. I am in no means accusing anyone in the well established teams of hacking however if such a program exists i find it funny that it's not being used as its just one extra step to ensuring hackers do not sway a game through their 3rd party advantage.

If the only thing necessary is to download this thing and have it running with whatever server configs required i'm sure all players can (and should have too) do this in the gotgames comps. I've often been called a wallhacker so i'm posting this in my interest for the sole reason of proving these people wrong. Anyhow Octinium for gotgames comps thats my 2c!

Ok. Well, could the captain on eRest please contact me. I came in this morning, and saw eRest dead in the IRC topic.

So I raged, had a talk with scaR and got his version of events, and asked him to field a team even though eRest had died. So he goes to continue fielding a team and starts making posts in the registration thread. Now I see jse is saying eRest is not dead.

1) registrations for this weeks invite was supposed to finish yesterday.
2) we need an official statement from eRest asap - detailing who left eRest or who was kicked.

I am on the verge of chalking eRest off from the competition altogether.

If you're after a stable team, giRo (aka the Napalm Fury of old) then we're keen to participate We've been in a form slump of late but we're getting prepped hardcore. We've been together in one form or another for a long, long time now and past performances with essentially the same lineup have seen us topple teams in both the old OGN league as well as the AOCN KO comp where we placed pretty sure 3rd in both (possibly in the 3rd to 5th bracket in OGN, not sure as I was not actively participating in that league due to other commitments).

What's the point in putting an 'eRest' team in which is essentially a slut team and not a team that will get any growth or development from the competition?

I guess I should explain a few reasons for this;
1) giro formerly known as napalm Fury have been around a long time and are known to be stable with their lineup
2) they are a WA lan team (and have been active over the bast 2 years) who are practicing for the gg nationals
3) they do not have any players currently participating in the GG-invite - and thus will not affect any teams with their inclusion into the league
4) they "will" not be pulling out of the competition under any circumstance.
5) they were the team to replace GTeSports midway through the last OGN-i and stuck through it till the end.

With eRest replacing GT eSports in the GG-invite, there will no longer be a reserve teams listing. From here onwards, the league is set with paid subscriptions. Any team that pulls out of the league, for whatever reasons, will have their team deleted from the ladder page and all their previous results nulled.

It is essential for the professionalism of the competition that each team plays each other once to ensure the placement of teams at the end of the league is correct.

Therefore, if any subsequent team pulls out of the competition, they will not be refunded their registration money and they will also be barred from the following gg-invite season.

At this point, teams are obligated to stay with the league and help to pull it through to the end - it's only 11 weeks of regular season. I will be making ammendments to the ruleset to reflect this decision.

sojwa aka icon from my understanding was another version of reptile aka dom. Who was an online thug whod talk shit and wanna bash anyone who 'disses his homies and bitches' Not a good addition to any team thats considered a professional gaming team. [/sarcasm]

along with the rest of the boys, all fun loving decent guys. Who probaly wouldnt take anything more serious than just a game inbetween drinking nights or something. Cant really see much room for commitment to the activity or gg comp.

INVITE ONLY no wildcard comp.
Teams that dont die in the ass constantly.

Why didn't gotgames set out backup teams when they formed the GG-I comp anyway? I mean there are a heap of teams who went into the wildcard that would love to play invite, but all these grand players with no real commitment get auto invites to clans which havn't been around for more then a few weeks...
