CSS - GG ban for known Hckers.

This may have bin debated before but I would like to bring it up again. Now wouldn't it be wise to ban known cheats from GG by IP to discourage them from making a new alias and jumping right back into CEVO, for instance squeeKz did it and who knows who else.

If you think about it admins, your gonna make your job allot easier, increase trust in admin's and boost none hackers belief in a clean community. Not to mention that most hackers are immature trolls and deserve to be kicked out of AUS source.

People can change their IP just by flicking a switch all it would do is waste time banning them..

The most effective ban would be a Hardware ID ban

Sorry who the **** are you? Get clue on IP's and Modems and whatnot, then also figure out that i.p bans are ****ing useless. Then go google a new way then come post it ok.

I don't know what you're talking about banning them from but here goes:

1. CMN does log suspicious IP's, whether it's for ringers, flagged steam ID's or multiple usage
2. Hackers don't usually get forum bans, only people posting hacking related links and similar

As for the hardware ban syntax, I assume you mean MAC addresses which can also be changed.

Hardware bans work pretty well for Americas Army, sure there are ways around it, i dont know them, i only knew that you had to get new HD, CPU and GFX card or something.

Most people dont have dynamic ip's however, some people do >< lol!

Most people do have dynamic IPs, static IPs are a minority now afaik.

Ummm Cutnudown....I have done it before with 2 modems, you can spoof an IP with one click with a dos program and even REPROGRAM THE EEPROM OF THE NETWORK INTERFACE CARD...

Right...I would love to know how you think the manufacturers do it for their network cards.... it isn't by magic, and how do you think cafe accounts work...a specific Mac is listed and authenticates with Valve, people often spoof this MAC and play on cafe accounts...

Not rocket science but then again...if no one ever cheated it wouldn't be a problem.

what wasnt blatent about that demo he was ****in hacking...tr0nz does the exact same thing and still admins do nothing which is just ****in insane...how can you ban spower from that demo when its obviously more sus in every game what tr0nz n zexor play in if thats the case spower should be unbanned and let back in the community.

thats the problem the admins atm are so inconsistant it hurts to watch. which begs to wonder if there are ppl on the admin staff who are also in on it.

im serious hybrid spower should be unbanned coz i have a demo of tr0nz shootin me thru smoke gaping me in the head on dust 2 but that wasnt before the three rounds prior to him shootin me thru smoke and hittin me aswell. will you ban him or just dismiss it?
