COD4 Multiplayer problem

Hey guys, so for some reason when I tried playing COD4 online the other day while loading up it came up with an error saying something along the lines of "Multiplayer data missing, data has been reset" something like that, forgot to save it. Any who! What it did was basically delete my save data (my rank, achievements, etc) so now im back at rank 1 and quite sad

Does anyone know if its possible to get my rank back without having to re level? I dont play a LOT of COD4 to get my rank back quickly with my achievements unlocked, but I do play enough to be upset about the loss and want my rank back :P
I have cod4 on steam if thats of any concern.

*edit* i *think* it was the mpdata file that was reset, i have two in my Common folder one called mpdata and one called mpdata.corrupt

Rename mpdata.corrupt to mpdata (thats the backup) and wallah.

Nah, that dosent work. I tried that. Got Rank 55 back within 10 secs though

ummm u culd try finding ur ranks.cab or something that might hav the data of your ranks
it has to save it somewhere lol
