Just wondering what ISP people are with and what plan they are on?
Currently i'm with Optus and on the old 'yes' Advantage on cable. I have 7GB on peak and 14GB offpeak. The speed i get is 16.5 Mbps download and 240 Kbps upload, this fascinates me coz i only should have 9.9 Mbs download but i will not complain. Also I have very little packet loss as well which is very nice to play on.
I thinking of upgrading what i have now to a newer plan to get the 20000/512 speeds but dont really think its worth it since uploads are counted and i already get the download and that increased upload speed will only help me chew through the usage with counted upload.
The dream plan would be internodes 24576/2560 kbps ADSL2+, but that is not enabled at my exchanged which is a shame![]()

Tin Can + String = Rohizle's COD4 experience... at least when it matches me with americans.
However, i will look it up soon, it's not good tho.
iinet. Home 5 or some &$*^ they call it I think. 20 gig on and 40 off.
In terms of speed, currently I get 18 meg down and 1 meg up, but i'm moving house shortly and expect to get the download a bit higher as I'll be a lot closer to my new exchange. Eventually I'll get on the annex m bandwagon to increase my upload to 2.5 but its not worth the price at the moment IMO.
Too Human > COD4
At the moment no connection. Trying to get the same connection as Diresim hooked up at my new house.
The Internodes annex m isnt to bad for price. Internode Extreme ADSL2+ plans and prices but i just see the problem is if it enabled at the exchaged, unlucky for me. But what be worst is having fttn out side you house but telstra refuses to run it to your house or it would be made financially not worth it by telstra, even tho telstra didnt install the cables in the first place.
I really just want to be able to stay on my current plan but it might get canlced and that is out of my controll.

I have internode adsl2+ 55gig plane meet be 24meg down and 1 meg up but I get around
5800down and around 600 up.. I still cant host on this witch sucks
I have the same as Morps and I used to have about 14k down and 900 up but last week my connection was dropping out so internode did a firmware upgrade and now I'm getting around 5k down and 600 up pretty peed off about that.

dude yeah beam you should be hosting with that connection 240 upload not enoth you mite give people green but it be lagging you mite find when your hosting a room it will go back to lobby cos conntion cant handle more then 12 people ..

You should still be able to host 6v6 with an upload of 600kb/s. My old connection was Internode 512kb upload, and it could host 12 players without any trouble.
according to speedtest.net
i have 19meg down 1.5meg up
according to my router i have 21meg down 1.5-1.7(varies) up.
The best way to measure packet loss using ping is to send a large number of pings to an IP address, and then look for failed responses to those pings. For instance, if you ping something 50 times in a rapid fashion, you can measure the number of failed responses and use this as an estimate of "packet loss." Anything over five percent is probably something to be concerned about.
On a Windows machine, this can be accomplished by using the following command at the command prompt:
Ping -n 50 (IP Address or domain name [www.website.com])>
The "–n" tells ping to send a set number of pings, and "50" is the number to send. The more pings sent the more acurate. Just dont send heaps at the same time because that is DOSing and thats a big NO NO
Afterwards, you will get a summary of the test that includes the number lost and a percentage:
Example
Ping statistics for 118.127.0.58:
Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 50, Lost = 0 (0%)
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:
Minimum = 24ms, Maximum = 42ms, Average = 27ms
If you see a very high average roundtrip time (greater then 100ms), this will also cause you to experience slow network downloads.

Internode: connection-512kb on 5 gig per month![]()
Telstra
1500/256
25 Gig Limit per month.
Paying 35 a month instead of 80 because they took so long to install it haha![]()
Western Australian wooden satellite.
Optus
1500/256
21gb month
7gb on peak, 14 off peak
Optus
1500/256
60GB monthly
20 on peak / 40 off peak
however when the closest exchange is about 5.5 km away i honestly reckon dial up would be just as effective as this ****!

Internode 512/128.
Works great.
I wanted to be the maid of honor
It mite be bad if ur downloading during the test or maybe canberra is closer to you. But its oly there to give a rough idea. Just do it again with xbox off and limewire and all torrent clients closed plus msn and do a couple. That one test might have been a abnormally.

what does this mean uploads, downloads, is a low ping and distance good. can someone please explain. thanks
i just looked on that site and i have the fastest provider in SA, but in comparison to sydney my connection gets shat on by about 30,000 down and 10,000 up by their best connection. hell i wish they upgraded that ****. vic aint too far behind NSW either.
