smart idea.
So as the title says I was just wondering are you allowed to restrict a bike to make it learner legal?? Like say for example I wanted to restrict a Honda CBR600RR are you allowed to do that?
You know what they say. If there's grass on the field, play ball. And if there aint, play in the dirt!
smart idea.

AZITIZ ON Z TUNE GTR VS PORSCHE BOXSTER " out of a boxter and a r34 gtr z-tuned in a quarter mile... it would be close (in my opinion anyway) " ROFL
Still illegal.
The bikes are determined by the LAMS list, not whether you restrict it.
Any bike >250cc that falls on LAMS list of allowed bikes can be ridden, but if it isn't, you cant.
There are several import bikes that would technically fall under the LAMS banner, but cant be ridden due to it not being on the list.
A cop will NOT believe you if he pulls you over.
Mates have tried.
In other news, unrestricted bike licence in 4months, daytona 675 here i come
I gotta feelin'~

You can but you need an engineers certificate and it can't be something you can remove has to be permanently fixed.
That being said it's usually people who build bikes who get the exemption.
Basically - Buy a 2nd hand shitter or just don't ride a bike until ya 12months is up.
I know their is certain bikes up to 650CC that your allowed to ride on your L's now days (new law passed)
yep, LAMS bikes, but they have shit awful power to weight ratio, you're better off getting a lightweight 250.
Heavy mofuckas.

Yeah, pretty sure its illegal. I recently got my RE's so I'm on LAMS for a year. My older brother has a CBR 125R he's planning to sell so atm I'm just riding that around till he sells it. But I'm really looking forward to being on my R's
You may consider getting a bike with good resell value, for example the Honda VTR250 is very popular and a great little bike that will generally retain good value.
Kind of related, my mates 600.

was in hospital for a couple of months.
ZX-10R
Oh and to answer your question - no, some bikes over 250CC however fall under the learner legal bikes, but basically you can't buy any bike and chuck a restrict kit on it (what ever the hell that is)
i just crashed my 09 ninja 250 a few days ago![]()
Fail cats, learn to ride.![]()
If you haven't crashed your bike, you haven't learnt anything! :P
