It's all about the power to weight ratio, a non turbo supra is a heavy and fairly low powered car for the weight, however with the twin turbo or big single turbo it will increase the power to weight ratio substantially.

Subarus and evo's are significantly lighter approx 1200-1300kg

edit: the new ones are 1400ish

I respectfully disagree with your opinion.

Supras are good cars, I believe they have one of the best engines to grace an import. I do agree they aren't best track cars but make a good daily driver. They can make heaps of power on a stock bottom end, unlike RB26's who need to be built after the 600hp mark.

The last time i checked the new STi's are around 1530kg and the new EVO X is about 1600kg

I wouldn't buy an NA Supra, have you thought of just having a POS until you get off your P's and then you can buy whatever you want. Don't buy a Honda Accord Euro and mod it either.

Lets all invest in a massive single turbo dyno queen that gets raped in anything except a straight line!

I have alot of mates that drive cars with turbos on their P's but when they go into 'suburbia' they take the plates off, me personally alot of my work/driving will be back deserted roads so i could prolly get away with it but not sure if i wanna risk driving with a turbo

Don't even think not having plates up is demerits in SA now (or could only be like 1 point and a fine). They changed it a few months back..

    The 2JZ-GE's Output is 220 hp (158 to 169 kW) at 5800 to 6000 rpm and 209 to 220 ft.lbf (215 to 298 Nm).

Still not too bad, but nothing compared to the turbo model.

A lot of cops just like to fuck with people on there P's. Like just near my house i got pulled over for apparently not stopping at a stop sign. I questioned the cop and that was the dumbest thing i ever did. For that i coughed up 3 point and $250 fine. This was all when i was on my Green P's and when i was driving a fucking TOYOTA ECHO. Don't take your chances in a high performance car on your P plates.

Also spend less amount on your first car because u might bump shit. Then 2 - 3yrs later you can get what u actually want. I ended up getting a Honda Civic Type r, fucking loved the car from the moment i saw it.

    noway is right.

Why would you watse your money on an N/A Supra lol?

Personally you end up spending more money on N/A thna you would turbo.

Your on your P's you can't drive fast or even cruise with out getting flashing lights up your ass hole.

Just buy a shit bomb until your 21 and on full license then buy the biggest turbo/fast car you can.

like ive drove my civic for so long but hey it saved me money lol and now i will be buying an evo

I have been looking and am getting one imported will post up for you all ASAP.

is there any decent way to hide the sound of the turbo without effecting the performance?

ohh wait that would get rid of the fun part of the turbo, if it were even possible
