So its time to start looking at cars(about to turn 18). Ever since the first nfs underground came out I have wanted a metallic black supra with the stock wing or no wing, don't know why but fuck I'm addicted. So I would like the opinions of those that have spent little/alot on their first car, I know everyone's different but just to help me decide.

Most I'm willing to spend is 20k, I personally don't want to buy a car for 2-3k only to have to spend more on it when it fucks up/do it up.

I live in Melbourne and know about the road rules but i figure if i follow the rules I can break a few without them noticing ie turbo and other performance mods. So I guess id be in for about 6-7k on a big single turbo?

Dude, just buy a NA Supra if you like the look and dont risk getting caught. In the end it has enough power to do things that prepare you for a more powerful car and you dont have to care about how you mod it because even if you draw attention you are not driving an illegal car on your P's.

There are plenty of them around.

edit : If youre willing to part from the idea of buying a Supra consider a CA18 Silvia, much lighter car + cheaper.

Of those 4, I'd only keep these two on the list, this is without taking into consideration of personal tastes, just on bang for buck , and by following used car purchasing rules.

I've made my mind up on the supra yes, but not the upgrades and shit, I noticed alot of you guys that post in this section are from melb so I thought id get your opinions as you know how the melb cops are

Yeah the red one was the first to catch my eye love the look of the interior but there's a few things that look shit imo that the black one really stands out to me in

I have a 91 Nissan pulsar hatchback.. piece of shit? yes.

Thing is it is in fairly good condition, cost was minimal off a friend of dads and goes well on petrol. Weak as piss and alright to learn on.

Would love to upgrade but have some saving to do first.

Why would I buy a car to pick up? I buy a car for my preference and if ANYONE is going to say a Pulsar SSS looks better than a Supra, you must be retarded.

I didn't mean headroom by actual space inside the cabin, I meant under the hood. Sure its his first car, doesn't mean he cant keep it and when hes on his fulls whack on a turbo and what not. As long as he can take real good care of it now, there is no reason the car wont last him easy 5 years.

my advice is not spend 20k on your first car as you will be inexperienced and will more than likely crash it especially if its a powerful car

and if you plan on insuring it it will cost more as well because you're a p plater

could just buy a half decent car like 5k or something and then keep saving and get a good powerful car when you have full license?
