Studying - year 12 - help :D

heyy guys atm im finishing up my preliminary year for my HSC and i do :
2u math (mathematics)
Biology
Stand English
Chem
PDHPE
Ancient History

Tbh my marks for all the subjects are descent but nothing great, i average around 60ish without any STUDY, and im always starting my assignments n shit the night before its due. Im definitely dropping chem, but im unsure to pick up ext history so i have 11 units all up rather than 10.

My yearly exams start on monday week, so i pretty much got 1 week and 3 days to study for 5 subjects (not including chem cause i couldnt give 2 shits) .

Im just wondering for any advice on different study methods? anything you guys can suggest in particular or anything haha. and anything for long term studying (the whole of year 12) , i plan on getting an ATAR of 85 .

Whats the point of doing 11 units? i was under the impression that it would take your best 8 units other than English...and since Ext. History is 1 unit..it wouldn't count anyway? Please correct me on this if i'm wrong.

yea after dinner il start doing bio notes haha, but ancient should be my priority! i need to get 80+ in order to do ext history.

History yearly's is on 2 bog bodies, deir el-medina and iceman.

He can. What they would do is take the subject you did the worst in then half that mark so it is only 1U and add on the other 1U from Ext. History.

So it would take the results of:
2U Eng
2U Biology
2U PDHPE
2U Ancient History
1U Maths
1U Ext. History

Then 1U of Maths wouldn't count.

nah i go to a public high school , umm yea ive sorta started noww but fuck its so hard to just keep writing notes etc while not being distracted with fb,msn,forums,youtube etc,..

No point doing Ext subject unless you can blitz it, just wastes your time through out the year if you don't.

You will need to step it up if you want an ATAR of 85 considering scaling.

Just get into the habit of studying each night, start off with like an hour a night or something. I'm starting my prelim tests in a week and a half .

Ask your teachers for the syllabus of each subject and past papers (past papers if used properly can prepare you very well).

If you're averaging 60 each subject and get that in the HSC, your ATAR will be like 50.

Do your playtime first [which is i.e facebook, msn, gg, games, youtube].
Set a strict time limit [set an alarm] for that (hour, 2 hours, w/e) and then turn them all off.

Then do like 5-10 minutes study on each subject. Build up from there. (next week do 10-15 minutes study, etc)
