It's a pretty contentious issue as to who makes the best monitors etc. The dell ultrasharps are very good, I had 2 of them before the 30" and never had any trouble with them whatsoever.

The only thing with 30" monitors is you'll have to pay through the nose for them, you wont find a 30" monitor new for under $1500. If I had the extra money I would have got the dell 30" for it's extra inputs but the samsung has been great.

I dunno it's just a personal preference really. Also the response time of most 30" panels is quite a bit higher compared with smaller monitors. I tend to run all but a few of my games in window mode at 1920x1200 or 1680x1050, it allows me to alt+tab much quicker and I can watch movies etc while playing without the need for a second monitor.
