Thursday 18 September, 2008 CEVO-P: A look at the finals
Tom "Hucky" Fairbairn

damorideR takes an in depth look at the prospects of all the teams in the CEVO-P CS:S Finals.

With this season of GotGames CEVO-P coming to a near end and finals just around the corner, I would like to have a look into the top 4 ranked teams as it is almost set in stone that these final 4 will play out in finals.

We will start with current rank #1 Fighting 4 Freedom

Cevo Roster: Oxi, Atvar, Dread, Grimn, Mickos, Souljah

Current MVP: Oxi, Currently leading fragger for not only F4f but the whole of Cevo-P with a massive 151-96 giving him a massive -/+ of 55. He seems to be everywhere you don’t want him to be.. especially in your face with a colt.

A team that many thought wouldn’t make the mid season break, has done the exact opposite by leading the way throughout the season currently at 6-0 and should finish the season on 7-0 when they play exLivid this week. Like most teams throughout the season they have had a lineup change with dread dropping out & PaDZ stepping up. This will effect there cevo performance as a team as PaDZ can not compete & from what I have seen most there practice time has seen an inform Padz throughout practice matches as the team seems to be preparing for wgt. I still do think that F4F Can take out Cevo-P with the current form of oxitron they will be a hard team to stop.

damo: Are you confident heading into finals seeded #1?, and who will be your 5th throughout finals?

oxitron: Yeh pretty confident, we're back 2 pracing again but we are pracing with padz instead of our cevo 5th so im not sure how well go. I think its dread, but could be souljah, micko's call on that one.

Predicted finish: Grandfinal

Current rank #2 CintX-Fire

Current Cevo Roster: Geronimo, Bzy, Dash, Tek, Trick, Tegs, Flabboy

Current MVP: Bzy, the quiet achiever not only has the machine out fragged the rest of his team he has put them over the line with a few 1v1’s & 1v2’s.

Caught in the Cross Fire, another team to overcome great odds to take #2 on the cevo-p ladder, yes that’s right cevo-p..a couple of months ago this team was struggling to take a spot in cevo-I and now they sit proudly awaiting professional finals. The team has had some rather convincing wins over the season with only two loss’s to the powerhouse F4F & the no longer competing Team Immunity. A solid win over Sublime this week on de_inferno will go along way if Cintx really do mean business come finals.

damo: Todd this is your first cevo-p season I believe? How confident do you feel coming into finals, and will we get to see some more game time from tegs?

Geronimo: cintx are feeling reasonably confident after demoralising the majority of teams in cevo-p this season, the 4 teams in finals appear to be sublime, f4f and powah. powah are basically walkovers, sublime can do well if they play together which they wont, f4f will be huge contenders considering they play approximately 50hrs more per week than any other team. its my first cevo-p finals experience and ill be absorbing every minute of it. Tegs or flab will be definately be getting the call up for finals due to terradactyl having to go overseas on a business trip, its unfortunate timing, but rl comes first.

Predicted Finish: 3rd

Current rank #3 Qlimax Crew

Current Cevo roster: Gummerz, Fit, Subnoize, Etric, Rdm, sKopeD, Emagine

Current MVP: Gummerz proven consistant fragger throughout the season & appears to have one several clutches.

Qlimax Crew formally known as POWAH lead by none other than gummerz came straight from cevo-I as reigning champions into a whole new league, however like most so far this season they have proven that they can dance with the big boys to, with a convincing win over sublime and taking F4F into overtime these guys can put a chill down anyones spine. With the loss of emagine to Big name team Immunity it appears these guys may have taken a backflip in direction losing some big fire powah. A Win this week vs TeamDead/Redemption could give these guys some much needed confidence they need coming into finals.

damo: Gum, How confident do you feel coming into cevo-p finals, and how is the team coping with the loss of emagine ?

Gummerz: Were confident we have what it takes to win the whole thing as long as we are playing well. It will just come down to whos best on the day. As for emagine, it was a little difficult for the first 1-2 weeks to ajust playing without him since he was such a big player, but i think we have pulled it together in the last week & abit.

Predicted finish: 4th

Current rank #4 Sublime

Current Cevo Roster: Reno, KermiT, d1gz, Johnnyc, adz, stv

Current MVP: Kermit, Leading Fragger and can single handedly open up rounds with his casual picks, and still manages to lead the Last alive tally on 30. My mate Rex Hunt!

Sublime tipped a favourite for this season have not performed as expected, with two early wins of the season that could of swung either way then the depature of yours truly, the season then got worse for sublime with a loss to powah on de_contra things wernt looking up, but then out of no where like a beam of light shining down from the heavens sublime picked up the self proclaimed deagle king of the world ‘adz’ After getting destroyed by F4F on nuke, they managed to bounce back in an Overtime win vs an out of form Livid. Like I said with Cintx, if these guys are going to prove to be anyones competition they will need to win there Last game of the season.

damo: Are you confident enough that sublime can take out cevo-p ?

digz: Sublime cant, but I can.

Predicted finish: Grandfinal
