The only big surprises in this group were Pinnacle, a new team formed just before the end of 09, managed to pull off two victories over higher fancied teams. As expected Meisters2k10 had no real opposition in this group and comfortably passed through to the next stage. LastStance would have looked to put in a stronger showing but should already have a spot in CEVO-Main so this could have been used as just a stepping stone back into competition for the new year. SureFire would have entered the day looking to pull off some big wins to push a claim for an invite position, however a real disappointing day left them only managing rounds against a switched off Pinnacle who were up 12-3 at half and really struggling against the other 2 much stronger opponents.
