FIFA '09: Launch Party
Alex "Hybrid" Mottshaw checks out the latest installment in the FIFA series.
GotGames has decided to lead out with the PS3 being chosen to run the premier Fifa 09 competition in Australia. Due to its sensational graphics and easy internet access, the PS3 has been chosen as the main platform for GotGames' exclusive new Fifa '09 competitions. The prize for the PS3 Fifa '09 competition is an exclusive framed Australian Jersey signed by Mark Bosnich. We also are giving away a Fifa ball signed by 6 Sydney FC and 4 Central Coast Mariner players to one lucky entrant to the competition. The runner up of the competition will also receive a Sydney FC Ball signed by 6 Sydney FC players.
If today's FIFA '09 Media Launch is anything to go by, you'd better be ready for a huge season when FIFA '09 hits the market on October 3. After a day of battling with the Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners stars it's safe to say that everyone walked away impressed and in anticipation of the release.
The graphics have moved forwards in leaps and bounds and when playing on a PS3, especially on an HDTV, even the sweat on the players' faces is noticeable. But that's only the beginning, as EA Sports have strived to push the envelope of gameplay. The new collision engine is amazing to say the least and the tussles on and off the ball come as close to the real thing as can be imagined. The tackles and heading contests have been improved dramatically so the players' attributes play a big role in the outcome of the clashes. New stadiums, new game modes and updateable real time player and team form guides are just a few of the other things which you can look forward to with the launch of FIFA '09.
GotGames will be Australia's home of FIFA '09 with competitions being launched across all 3 major platforms; PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Great prizes will be up for grabs including signed A-League and Australian memorabilia.
We will have a full game review for you in the weeks leading up to the launch so stay tuned for all the latest news as well as exclusive interviews with A-League players and great FIFA '09 giveaways.
We suggest you download the demo and get practicing, because in the words of Australia's FIFA Champion Stephen Coorie, "the competition will be tougher than ever".
